Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has revealed to Newsmax that he is looking at a possible bid for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.

Asked in a Newsmax TV interview if he is considering another White House run, Huckabee declares: “Yeah, I’m not ruling it out at this point.

“I’m not sitting around having meetings with the strategic team, but it’s something I will certainly look at and I’m talking to some people just to determine whether it’s a kamikaze raid or whether it has potential and possibility.”

Huckabee, who was governor of Arkansas for more than a decade up until 1997, will be 61 by the time of the 2016 election.

He was generally seen as coming in third in the 2008 GOP primaries behind eventual winner John McCain and Mitt Romney........

Pooh on all of you. I don’t care what you all say about the Huckster. He’s a good Christian man and I voted for him in the 2008 Texas primary and I’d vote for him again.

Somewhere around FRville is a Jim Robinson thread from ‘08 also supporting Huckabee.

Not saying he’s the best choice out there. But certainly a far better choice than 90 percent of Repubs.

Flame away.....

If he does, it assures that we get another Romney-type squish.

We will also get another Obama type person, or maybe Obama himself again, if he figures out some way to remain in power.

So you’re pro-amnesty, pro-Mexico and soft on criminals? Or do you not know much about Gov. Huckabee other than he is a pastor?

He’ll be Jebby’s running mate

Not sure that can happen now. Huckabee lives in Florida and so does Jeb.

"Huckabee participated in the May 3, 2007 Republican Presidential Debates along with the party's other nine declared candidates. Huckabee expressed support of [...] combating climate change, and comprehensive immigration reform."

Pass.

The dark and jumbled recesses of my aging feeble brain | January 31, 2008 | Jim Robinson
My friends, I have to admit that I've been in a bit of a quandary since the Real Conservatives ® Thompson and Hunter dropped out of the race leaving us to to place our bets on one the four headless horsemen. But after having a day or three to sort it all out, I'm beginning to see a ray of hope. Number one, my worst fear that the pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-gun social liberal Rudy Giuliani might be nominated, and thereby bring an abrupt and unholy end to the pro-life conservative movement within the GOP has been allayed. His evil culture...

That’s Roves plan. It worked for Romney. And it will work for another Rino.

Yep. Same as it ever was.

Thanks but no thanks. Huck will turn on a dime whether liberal or conservative or the direction of the wind. He’s Bill Clinton lite.

>>>He’s a good Christian man<<<

Would “a good Christian man” appear on Comedy Central to promote his book, on the SAME DAY the 4 cops who were murdered by the predator he gave clemecny to were buried?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2403545/posts

Huckabee also lied about the clemency, claiming he left the early release up to the parole board, when in fact, he commuted the sentence to the precise number of DAYS necessary to make Clemmons IMMEDIATELY eligible for release.

I’m almost always keen on social conservative leaders. But Huckabee... with his history... very pro-illegals in Arkansas, awfully nanny-statish, letting those inmates go just because they proclaim to praise Jesus (and the one that went on to murder four people), his support and endorsement of Dewhurst over Ted Cruz. I really don’t “hate” him or anything. But he just seems to have pretty rotten judgment. I might prefer him a little to some GOP-establishment hack, but not by a whole lot.

Look at the bright side. We’ll find a use for all those old Photoshops of Nanny Huckabee again.

I’m one of those “so-cons” you refer to and Huckabuck has NO chance of getting my vote.

A mummy, even Lenin’s, would be less harmful to what is left of America than any other candidate the dems could come up with.

Thats it? Thats all you got? This clemency issue?

Yeah, I don’t like it either. But on a Relevancy Scale this rates a 1 or 2 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I don’t like his politics because he is bascially a Christian Socialist, but all the pardons he handed out like candy show that he has extremely, poor judgment and does not care about the safety of the public.

The way he LIED about the Clemmons release and did a COMEDY show on the day of the police officers’ funerals show that his is a despicable human being.

If I wanted to vote for a despicable human being, I might as well vote for Obama.
