GOP hopefuls court donors at Romney event

PARK CITY, Utah — The Republican Party is trying hard to move on from Mitt Romney. His donors are another story.

Three potential presidential candidates grasped at the Republican Party’s financial torch Friday by auditioning before an audience of Romney’s most influential fundraisers and GOP officials. After huddling with the former nominee in a dark lodge Thursday night, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Romney running mate Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul woke up early to hobnob with donors and deliver their pitches at Romney’s Experts and Enthusiasts conference.

All three Republicans had unique challenges in charming the moneyed and influential crowd packed into a ballroom here.

Christie, for one, had upset many of the donors loyal to Romney with his effusive praise of President Obama’s response to Hurricane Sandy in the closing days of the 2012 presidential race. Anthony Scaramucci, a New York investor and vocal Romney supporter, said that Romney was a “very gracious” person for inviting him at all....

So we have Christie, Amnesty pimp Rubio, and the second coming of Paul to choose from next go-around. God help us! They’re all frightfully weak candidates. How about an Allen West? I understand he’s not perfect, but he has a spine and charisma. Or Sarah Palin, but she seems to be MIA. Maybe the Romney-side of the GOPe let her know on the sly that they would actively try to sabotage her. Heck, Romney’s people were doing that even on the eve of the election in 2008.

The Romney donors LIKE weak candidates. There’s a reason for that. It’s not a good reason.

IRS publishes statistics every year about what the chances of being audited are depending on your income. Typical Romney donors have a 9% chance of being audited. That is 9X the national average for all folks who file federal income tax returns.

Still, that's less than 1/3 the average chance for someone at the bottom of the income scale who claims EITC ~ they have a 30% chance of being audited!

Romney WORKS WITH SOROS and THREW two election to Obama;
One by attacking Gov. Palin and the second by being
a worthless, RomneyCARE-creating PHONEY.

What could go wrong with him now running the GOP?
