New wave crashes down on Rubio after Palinís Ďflip-flopí tweet
BizPac Review ^ | June 24, 2013 | Tom Tillison

Posted on 06/24/2013 11:17:32 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio understood he was taking considerable risk by putting his name on the immigration reform bill currently being crafted by the so-called “Gang of Eight.”

He expected to alienate some conservatives, but did he anticipate Sarah Palin to be among them?

The former Republican governor of Alaska took to Twitter on Sunday to call Rubio out for his “flip-flop” on immigration reform.

Sarah Palin ✔ @SarahPalinUSA

Politicians wonder why we can't trust them? Campaign flip-flops like this and carve-out bribes in the Amnesty... http://fb.me/2IsL1uspC

As noted by Twitchy, Palin’s tweet links to a story from TownHall.com detailing Rubio’s “flip-flop” over amnesty for illegal immigrants, based on comments — see video below — he made while campaigning for his current seat:

"During a debate with opponents Rep. Kendrick Meek and Gov. Charlie Crist, candidate Rubio argued that giving illegal immigrants an “earned path to citizenship,” which Crist, Sen. John McCain and former President George W. Bush had advocated, is basically amnesty.

Rubio, who won that 2010 election, is now the leading Republican in the U.S. Congress pushing for illegal aliens to be given the earned path to citizenship that he himself insisted was “code for amnesty” only three years ago."(continued)

She’s still incredible. RAWR.

There are extremely few possible GOP contenders for 2016 that would give me strong hope for American renewal after these dark years. Sarah is first and foremost on such a very short list. I could see her election serving as a much-needed realignment, and watching the shell-shocked Dems get reamed after so arrogantly prancing around, singing about demographic inevitability would be delectable.

This immigration bill is 1200 pages and, according to Senator Ted Cruz, it has a thousand waivers for border security. I doubt that Senator Rubio has read this monster of a bill. In it he would also find that this bill creates defacto affirmative action for those who are here illegally. That is because illegal immigrants, when they get this RPI status, are exempted from Obamacare. So, if you are a businessman, you know it costs about $5000 more to hire a U.S. citizen than it does to hire someone who is here illegally.

I wonder what Senator Rubio got out of this deal to buy his vote. Senators Harry Reid and Dean Heller got their casino kickback, Bernie Sanders got $1.5 billion for youth employment that includes transportation and daycare and Alaska Sens. Mark Begich (Democrat) and Lisa Murkowski (Republican)got special rules allowing fish processing industries to hire low-skilled illegal immigrants to fill “temporary” jobs. What did Senator Rubio get?

Thinking about this, rubio dishonors his parents by doing this. THEY did not sneak in and wait around for some crooked pol to give them amnesty. They WANTED to become citizens and they did everything they needed to do to get there.
Right now they may think he’s doing the right thing, but in their heart of hearts, they know better.

IIRC, it was his mother or grandmother who begged him to fix immigration. Well, he’s very naive’ to the point of being dumber than dumb. The current demonic-rats are worse than the ‘86 demonic-rats that shafted President Reagan. Only corrupt fools would make deals with the likes of Schumer and Menendez.

Rubio is as pathological a liar I’be ever seen. He was on Greta van Susteren’s show last night and when responding to her concerns about the immigration bill, he had a ready line of BS to spout back, from verification, to border security, to “back if the line,” etc. He actually sounds like he believes this crap.

“What did Senator Rubio get.”

He got significant national and largely favoable media exposure in the mainstream press not normally granted to freshman Senators. He got to rub shoulders in public and private with the Washington elite. He has likely been introduced to the wealthy and powerful who operate behind the scenes and really control the political class. He probably believes he has explicit promises from the GOP establishment and deep pocket contributors for support in 2014. No doubt he’s also gotten an inflated ego from all of the attention.

What Rubio doesn’t seem to understand is he is being used. He is shunning the Tea Party voters who put him in Washington in the mistaken belief his new establishment and media friends will give him the kind of power the inner circle wields. However, once amnesty passes he will have nothing that can benefit them as he will have lost his core voter support and he doesn’t possess any meaningful wealth or power that he alone controls. He will find that John McCain, Chuck Schumer, and others will no longer answer his phone calls. His new reporter friends will start running unfavorable stories about him to pave the way for a progressive Dem to take his seat in the next election. The Sunday talk shows will stop calling because McCain will return to being the featured back stabbing Republican.

When he finally turns to his original Tea Party base for support in his reelection campaign he will learn that conservative voters are fed up with supporting Republican candidates who love them on Election Day and then kick the voters in the teeth when they get to Washington. The days of campaigning for reelection by telling conservatives you deserve another term because you aren’t as bad as the Democrat alternative are over. We elected a Republican House in 2010 and we’ve seen it advance the progressive agenda since because Republicans have no fear of retaliation from their base. In 2014 the traitors will find the base either runs challengers in the primaries or stays home on Election Day. The only way to hold their politicians accountable is for conservatives to make them fear the consequences of continuous capitulation to the other side’s agenda.

I’m waiting for the day (soon) that Rubio will switch to the Democrat party.

I’m sure that it won’t be too far in the future. After all, the illegals love him along with their relatives already here.

He has come, done his damage and now must move on to greener pastures.

Palin has side-stepped the immigration issue since 2008. It is good to see her finally taking a strong stand the last couple of weeks.

I wonder how much the Jan Brewer conversion and the Rubio flip-flops influenced her?

Palin still has some fence minding as a result some of her endorsements the last few years.

Better late than never.

What Rubio doesn’t seem to understand is he is being used.

When he originally started spouting the Gang of 8 talkingpoints, I wondered whether Rubio was just naive or knew what he was doing.

More recently, I have concluded that he has known from the start what he was doing. The Gang used him, but he was complicit and allowed it. He wasn't naive. He knew exactly what he was doing. It was not him who got used; rather, it was the voters who sent him to the Senate.

Yep... and the astonishing part is how he can lie full-speed in an interview without batting an eye. Too bad he's not using that intellect for purposes that actually serve the long-term needs of the nation. Instead he's bargained the nation's future for some perceived short-term political gain (which won't come to fruition, I might add).
