Our only chance is that the Tea Party gets more direct involvement with the GOP. By that I mean not just talk but inform the RINOs that their existence in the Government is limited and expose them. Get tough for a change.

The Egregrious Frum, as Jerry Pournelle likes to call him, can sit down and shut up any time now. And I’m being really restrained in my comments for FR posting.

If the Republican elite give the boot to the Tea Party wing, then the Democrats will compete with and compromise with an unprincipled democratic-socialist party. They can work with that since it’s really no different from the Democrat Party except in relatively insignificant details and it keeps the facade of present real choices to voters.

GOP elite = unprincipled democratic-socialist party with a nationalist tendency
Democratic Party = democratic-socialist party with strong principles related to abortion rights, gay rights, and other unnatural behavior and an internationalist tendency

It took us 4 election cycles, 16 years, after Goldwater’s defeat for the Reagan Revolution to win. I’m willing to wait again if that’s what it takes.

Thanks for the link to TC7’s wisdom.

But, brie and chablis?

How gauche! TC7’s pairing is Long Clawson Dairy Stilton and Château Yquem Sauternes. Brie and chablis is for the riff-raff Republicans at some suburban country club.

LOL - well of course, I meant that as a form of shorthand, a mere figure of speech, as it were.

Long Clawson Dairy Stilton and Château Yquem Sauternes.

It would seem that a person of fine breeding and exquisite taste would know that the sole proper accompaniment for Stilton is not a pedestrian Sauterne, but rather a 1963 Taylor Scion vintage port.

I even took the liberty of asking Dame Kathleen Parker, and she wholeheartedly agreed with my gastronomic assessment, after wiping away the last remaining droplets of gin from her upper lip, and inquiring as to whether I might have known one or more of the delightfully droll members of Princeton's Cap and Gown Club.

But they’d still hate each other, like Trotskyites hate the Stalinists.

I’d almost forgotten about that one - brilliant fare as usual from Dave Burge (Iowahawk). He still posts regular feeds on Twitter, but I do wish he would write more...

A record 60% of Americans now yearn for a third major party, according to Gallup.
***News to me. Good place to bump this thread.
