To the outsider, they look the same. There is a civil war between the party’s leadership class and its membership. They “leaders”, the party administrators, pundit class, and political professionals don’t really like the membership much, and would love to get rid of them if they could only find people to replace them.
They need their votes, but they don’t want to hear from them or be beholden to them between election cycles.
The tea party is essentially the GOP membership. They are the ones who actually believe in what the party supposedly stands for. The professional pols have no particular respect for the membership, they see principles as negotiating chips, and are embarrassed of the people who put them in office and buy their books.
And Forbes, like most so called middle roaders, misses the point.
The obumbler care fiasco demonstrates, and Ted Cruz demonstrated, that he was right all along.
If the rinos had followed his lead, allof those who have lost their insurance and those who have had their premiums go through the roof, would have been spared.
It is not known how many unemployed would have been hired or how many 29’ers would get 40 hours, but the outcome would have been a lot better than it will be now.
