The Ghost of Mitt Romney Returns
Yahoo! News / The Atlantic Wire ^ | November 3, 2013 | Connor Simpson

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney returned to the Sunday shows almost exactly one year since he lost the election to Barack Obama, only to attack the President and call his second term into question. The former Republican politician wasted no time attacking the President over his rocky Obamacare roll out during his appearance on NBC's Meet the Press. "The president failed to learn the lessons that came from the experience in Massachusetts," Romney said, repeating that he thinks a state-by-state healthcare plan would work better.

Romney then launched into a greater attack on the President's "you can keep your insurance" controversy. "Perhaps the most important lesson the president, I think, failed to learn was, you have to tell the American people the truth," he said. "And when he told the American people that you could keep your health insurance if you wanted to keep that plan, period, he said that time and again, he wasn't telling the truth. And I think that fundamental dishonesty has really put in peril the whole foundation of his second term." Romney thinks the guy elected to lead the country instead of him is no longer fit to lead. "The fact that the president sold it on a basis that was not true has undermined the foundation of his second term. I think it's rotting it away," Romney said. "We've got to have a president that can lead, and right now he's not able to do so." The former Massachusetts governor also praised Chris Christie.....

Romney is probably putting out feelers for a repeat run.

Perry and Santorum have surfaced recently.

We quite probably will see another one or two retreads from 2012 making noise about running again in 2016.

I take your point on state vs. federal power. It’s a valid argument. I took Mitt at his word when he said he’d repeal Obamacare.

“Romney is probably putting out feelers for a repeat run.”

That’s my take on this “Romney Reawakening”. He’s not done.

“You know Obama was lying during the election. You chose to keep your mouth shut. So don’t come around now calling “liar”. We needed you a year ago. We don’t need you now.”

The great leader who got punked by Candy Crowley and refused to make Benghazi an issue during a foreign policy debate.

Yeah, unfortunately on FR and some other boards no one wanted to recognize the difference between state and fed power. I am adamantly against a state program like the one in Mass…but in the name of intellectual honesty, there are massive differences on so many levels.

Oh I did too….for all of Mitt’s many many faults…I don’t think he had any interest in doing Obamacare for the entire nation.

I don't believe it will ever be possible to "believe" any position taken by Mitt.

That's kind of a broad brush.

Many, too many, a bunch, some, etc., maybe, but NO ONE?

You make an excellent point, and I don’t fault Romney for defending his state program (emphasis: STATE program). For the despicable Obama to take a state program and federalize it, so that individuals cannot escape it with their feet, and then to stand in Faneuil Hall and thank Romney for essentially being a handmaiden to ObamaCare is, I think, why Romney had to respond.

There was an earlier article that Romney stated that had a hard telling the truth about OdumboCare. Where was Romney in 2012?

In Proverbs 16:13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth.
and in Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.

probably Mitt was applying Proverbs 23:9 Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words to Obama.

But Obama applies Proverbs 26:24 A malicious man disguises his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit.

He's a political vampire, sucking the blood out of the GOP.

Romney is a third-party forcer.

IOW, they would have repealed Obamacare and replaced it with Romneycare in every state, as Pam Bondi told us.
