Me too, Brother FReeper.
Just waiting for the Christie supporters to start telling us we HAVE to vote for him....
What we need and what we get may be two different things in 2016. Except in what limited government conservatives can do in the primaries, third party is out of our hands.
We’ll get years of those RINO pimps and hacks to do just that, just like with the execrable zombie Willardbots. They should ALL be sent on a one-way ride on the JimRob ZOT Express.
Given how viscerally offensive and unpopular Willard’s nomination was in 2012 (to Conservatives at least), I was very shocked a strong independent candidacy didn’t arise (I had hopes for Goode, but he never took off).
I wish the GOP national leadership would recognize it and reclaim the banner of limited government and personal independence, which is what American voters yearn for. But like I said ... I'm not holding my breath.
If anything Christie is worse than Romney. We’re a one party country as far as the presidency goes. Republicans will offer up Christie or Bush. Hillary will beat either one.
It is shocking. The disconnect between leadership and the base is enormous. It’s as though we are fighting the opposition party within our own party... and they certainly don’t hesitate to “go Democrat” on primary challengers from the Conservative base (so long as they don’t do the same on the actual Democrats in the general, once they’ve gotten the nomination).
I don’t think the leadership has any more intention of embracing the small government agenda than we do of embracing big gubmint. It’s anathema to them. It also rather reminds me of how and why the party largely went extinct (outside of country clubs) in the Northeast. You had elitist liberals in charge and running those types of candidates which were (aside from social class) were indistinguishable from the leftist Democrats.
After awhile, there was little point in even running candidates, since the Democrats could be counted on to win every time (you had majorities of legislative seats in MA that would go uncontested). If by some chance one of those “horrid, right wingers” tried to contest things, well, the rich left in the party would put the kibosh on that. Heavens to Betsy, that might embarrass them with their Democrat friends at the champagne & brie parties. How terribly gauche.
No, these establishment guys in DC know they’re in the fight of their lives if they get successfully primaried. They might be able to handle a few being knocked off at a time, they can deal with that (either by quietly making sure said Republican insurgent loses to the Democrat in the general, or by cajoling them or threatening them into line when they make it to DC, as we’ve seen with some of our guys: Coburn, Rubio, Toomey... too many to name. All 3 were the insurgents that forced aside the RINO preferred candidates, a Rovian loser in OK (Kirk Humphreys, who trailed to Democrat Brad Carson), and the latter two buffoons who became Democrats (Crist & Specter — and note how easily those two segued to the opposition)). Cruz, of course, is the only one who has strongly resisted (to a lesser extent Mike Lee of UT and Rand Paul).
Building a critical mass of Cruzites to overthrow the establishment class is paramount. We’ve got to stop supporting these same establishment types that lie to our face that they’ll stand with the Conservative agenda all the while they laugh behind our backs and call us suckers. It’s no longer enough to “vote Republican” if the person is in bed with the Democrats in every imaginable way. They’re not the lesser of two evils, they ARE the evil. McConnell, Boehner, McCain, et al, all willing accomplices to the left-wing agenda. If they could keep their power by switching to the Democrats, they’d do it in a heartbeat.
The President congratulates you on your contribution to Social Progress!
After all, without tools like you, how would a Mooselimb fraud like Barry carry the day?
Speaking of tools, check my state flag, pal. It was going to vote for Zero’s ringer Willard with or without my help. I don’t vote for Socialists running as Republicans. I only vote for Conservatives pledged to change the culture in Washington.
Perhaps you’ve been so poisoned by the atmosphere in Massachusetts you can’t tell the difference anymore. My conscience is clear. Have a nice day.
Post #29. The zombies have arrived.
That said, it sets a bad example to advocate third party tantrums as a general rule. Unless you are really sure the Worthless One is going to win, you should cast your vote for him and not for the True Conservative who can't possibly win because the Sheeple never heard of him. Because, if the Worthless One wins, while that's a loss, it's a lesser loss and at least a speed bump on the Progressive Agenda.
Trusted by whom? Tested? Let’s see Christie is a liberal rino who has been elected twice in a liberal state as governor. He endorsed 0bama with his fawning over 0bama’s faux response to Hurricane Sandy. What type of test is that? They failed the Sandy test. Gun control? Fail. 0bamacare? Fail. Yep, it looks like Chritie is ready to run for Senator fron New Jersey alright.
Scott Walker supports Illegal Alien Amnesty...so lets not even bring him up in Presidential talk. He also is the reason liberal Denice Priebus is running the GOP
The GOP has been peddling this same steaming lie for years. One conservative does not a Party make: Reagan was an anomaly, and the GOP hated him worse than the Democrats.
It is telling that you and your cronies want to talk about speed bumps when the Progressive Agenda has been at cruising altitude for my adult life. The GOP not only hasn’t slowed the Progressive Agenda, but they have endorsed and accelerated it during their administrations.
Fool me once, McCain.
Fool me twice, Romney.
Fool me three times, Christie? F*&% no!
People have forgotten that little nugget of history.
You know that’s coming. Ground hog day for sure.
