I have noticed the Gope likes to turn the debate in this way to argue that the Gope dope is quite conservative. Eg McCain, McConnell, McGeneric Gope etc... Has a quite conservative record.
These records are inevitBky true, but it is a canard and if they twist the argument in this manner they have changed the playing field and maneuvered to their advantage.
Gopes maintain conservative voting records and credentials and I personally don’t care to argue that they don’t hold conservative views or values.
Arguing in this way leads us no where.
The issue becomes effectiveness and leadership.
We need to not argue over who is more conservative but who has the guts to stand up for it in a real situation, ie House or Senate, where it counts and has real life ramifications.
It is a question of inertia and belong along to get along as opposed to moving the ball forward.
Voting records are easily manipulated. Many votes are cast solely to give themselves political cover. I agree with you, we need people who, prior to the votes, stand and give everything they’ve got to affect the outcome of the vote. Much like Ted Cruz has been doing.
