Fired for Associating with Republicans
PJ Media ^ | January 7, 2014 | Ed Driscoll

“For crime of hanging out with a Republican, Democratic state senator fires staffer,” according to this Daily Caller story:

A recent college graduate and aide to Colorado state Senator Irene Aguilar was fired from his job because he visited the office of a friend who worked for a Republican.

Tyler Drum, who graduated from Colorado State University last year, told Campus Reform that his friendship with Republicans made Sen. Aguilar uncomfortable, though she did not formally give a reason for his firing.

“Partisanship runs much deeper than I thought,” he said in an interview with Campus Reform. “I thought this would happen on the Republican side.”

Drum, now unemployed, has lost some of his faith in the Democratic Party.

“Now I’m a disenchanted Democrat,” he said. “This was my first job after graduating, [the Democrats] don’t care about my situation, they don’t care to know who I am.”

As Charles Krauthammer said almost 12 years ago, “To understand the workings of American politics, you have to understand this fundamental law: Conservatives think liberals are stupid. Liberals think conservatives are evil.” Perhaps there’s more to the story than the Daily Caller is reporting, but based on their article, it’s almost as if the left views Republicans as some sort of strange, alien — evil — other, who must not be associated with, lest ideological contamination occur.

Someone should do a blog post rounding up additional examples of this awful turn in American politics. Oh, and note this:

“The Democratic Party is not as tolerant and accepting as I had thought,” he told The DC.

Breaking news from 1861, 1914, 1942, 1963, 2008, and 2009.

Wonder if the leftist indoctrinated head full of mush fool will wake up. Probably not, despite the bit at the end of the article.

In social work and counseling degree programs, you have to make a vow to work for income redistribution and against inequality, racism and so forth. I’m not kidding.

Dear disenchanted Democrat,

IMHO, try honest study of the Bible.

Read up on new world order.

You’ll find shock, horror, disgust, etc., in human history.

Our only hope, truth and true freedom is in Christ Jesus; God’s Word calls us to apply a little elbow grease to living according to God’s will.

The true believer in Christ finds comfort and joy in all circumstances.

Rejecting God and trying to be obedient to human-devised schemes and lies, on the other hand, is nothing but cruel folly.

Regards,

PC, disenchanted Republican

Interesting.

My sister in law is a social worker I will have to ask her about that. (Master’s Degree from Case Western Reserve)

When she first started working in the field she was very Liberal on most issues. She works in Cleveland at Rainbows Children’s Hospital. Since working with her clients there helping the “poor” get benefits she has changed some of her views.

Sorry, but Krauthammer has this wrong. I KNOW anyone supporting either Abortion or the Gay Agenda has already succumbed to the evil in their lives.

It may not be what people want to hear, it may offend some people, but you cannot support the murder of unborn babies or the perversion of Homosexuality and not bring the evil of those choices back on your head.

I kind of understand why he was fired.

Sen. Aguilar is afraid that he is a mole.

This is happening right here in AZ. There is a new Director of DES (Department of Economic Services). He happens to be a black conservative. They have done everything in their power to get rid of him. They being the liberals who have destroyed the system he is trying to fix. They are evil.

“For crime of hanging out with a Republican, Democratic state senator fires staffer,” according to this Daily Caller story:

Nobody really should have a problem with this. I mean do you think that it would be ok for Conservatives to run over to the local DNC office every now and again. Suddenly the DNC knows everything they need to know about the Conservatives. No thanks! I know that if you work for ABC, you cannot go on a CBS program. Many private companies say you can’t hang out with the competition. This is normal folks.
