As taildragger points out (Post 16) Kristol is a pain in the butt (and more so every day, it seems) but in this case he was steadfastly and demonstrably on your side.
Seems pointless to waste energy hating on a guy who helped as much as he did. Another 2008 account, from the Daily Beast, no less, who despise Kristol as much as you do:
