Cruz-Palin 2016: Seeking a Tea Party ticket (Article from 2013)
The Examiner ^ | October 16, 2013 | Dustin Koellhoffer

There are so many good conservatives in and running for office that could take America back from liberal socialists and moderate spend thrifts that it’s hard to know them all without excessive effort. Sens. Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Reps. Paul Ryan, and candidate Elizabeth Cheney are all known names, but somebody has something bad to say about everybody. Romney was equally conservative but allowed his name to be smeared by moderates led by Boehner in Congress who cost him the election by attacking conservatives.

Tea Party members need to stop being churlish when it comes to some of their candidates not being perfectly conservative in their eyes. Rubio helped write and voted for the immigrant bill and then spoke against it. Ryan endorsed moderates but remained staunchly conservative in pursuing a balanced budget. Even Palin supported McCain because he introduced her to the nation.

But there is enough of a battle to be fought against liberals who can vote in primaries in some states and choose the candidate they want to run against. They did this in at several senatorial elections where the Republicans candidate torpedoed their own campaigns...

I like her as the kingmaker/cheerleader.

Thank you.. part of presenting oneself as a candidate for high office is being able to handle the hostile interview. I have yet to see that Palin's capable of it. But as a leading conservative pundit, she's great.

People can wish themselves into believing Palin would win the Presidency if she'd just make a run, but the dye is cast, she doesn't play beyond the GOP base.

and who does then, since you seem to be all knowing in this regard?

what conservative, pro american plays to the ‘masses’?

Excuse me? Who made the claim that I was all-knowing? I made an observation about Palin’s ability to be elected. That you have a problem with it is your issue.

you said she is not viable....therefore you must know someone who is viable that can appeal to the masses.

if you can point out her not being viable, just because she doesnt do interviews you like with a hostile media, surely you have a person in mind who will be viable, has the media under control and will appeal to the leftist/progressives/rinos, that dont like palin...

I’ve got 2 - Cruz and Scott Walker. Both easily handle a visceral media.

If leftist appeal is what you want perhaps McCain again, Christie, Romney, Ryan is who you’d choose.
Why would I want someone to appeal to the other side. We have more than enough of those now.

this was my point to the other poster, claiming that palin isnt viable and doesnt appeal to anyone outside the conservative base....the two you listed, have no appeal outside the base either.

so they are not viable either, according to him.

As a CANDIDATE she’s not viable.

Scott Walker or Mike Pence would be far better.

I don’t need to show you anything. I gave two examples of potential candidates who can ably state their vision to any audience and have the results to back them up.

You want to support Palin from day one, go for it. If she’s the nominee in 2016, she’ll have mine as well.

so in other words, you have no proof of viability outside the conservative base for the two you mention, but you do have proof positive that palin has no appeal outside her base..

got it.....thanx

What’s the answer, surrender? Nominate a Chris Christie or Jeb Bush? You go ahead, I’ll expatriate.

Read his biography and come back here. He’s basically a 21st Century Daniel Webster, already. Would Mr. Webster have received your nod had you lived back then? Seriously, go read it. There’s line after line that will amaze you, if you read it carefully.

How about.. you tell me how Palin would traverse the twin mountains of firstnomination and election? Tell us just how viable a candidate she would be... this should be quite interesting.

Are the Sunday morning DEMOCRAP talking point sessions supposed to be a barometer of Presidential qualifications?

Nobody has to sell me on the idea of having Palin as President. But convincing the 49.5% in this country is another matter. She has to be able to sell herself in a campaign, and had yet to do so on a national level.

Since Palin is the most popular republican among GOP primary voters, she would probably do pretty well in a GOP primary, don’t you think?
