Iowa Republican Senate candidate Joni Ernst, who was catapulted onto the national stage in March with a viral campaign ad claiming she had Washington pork-cutting skills from her days castrating hogs, has more than a 10-point lead over her nearest primary rival, a new poll has found.
According to a Loras College Poll conducted May 12-13 of 600 likely Iowa voters, Ernst has 30.8 percent of the support, compared to businessman Mark Jacobs who has 19.3 percent support with less than three weeks to go until the June 3 election.
Each of the three other candidates has less than 10 percent support, and over 29 percent of voters remain undecided, the poll found.

"State Sen. Ernst has captured momentum in this race and has opened up a substantial lead, according to our polling. Whether it was from her recent notable ad campaigns and endorsements, or not, she is the clear frontrunner now," said Christopher Budzisz, associate professor of politics and director of the Loras poll.
Just one month ago, separate polls put the mother, grandmother, and former farm girl in a slight lead over Jacobs, but within the polls' margins of error, though a poll released at the beginning of May gave her a 10-point advantage.
The poll also found that since the organization's last survey in early April, Ernst's name recognition and favorability have increased dramatically. In the April survey, 52 percent had not heard of her compared to 24 percent in the current poll. Her favorability has increased from 24 percent to 51 percent since the last poll.
Ernst has chosen to focus on an attention-grabbing-ad strategy to help overcome her financial disadvantage to Jacobs, a former Wall Street executive, who has spent at least $1.6 million of his own money on the campaign....

She knows how to stop pork!
Sorry, I don’t think there are too many balls left to castrate in Washington DC. :)

Really? She might find her hands full on the “D” side of the aisle.
Lol
That’s a pithy campaign motto: ‘It’s nut-cuttin’ time.’
In my opinion, not many “D” or “R” have the balls to uphold the Constitution. If you mean those that have the balls to ignore the Constitution, then I am in agreement with her.
She sounds like what we need, she is very interresting. Military background, that is a good thing. The libtards will have a hard time with her.
We live in a time where there is NO punishment to those who commit political crimes.
I would love to see her wear her favorite castration knife every day in Congress as a necklace if she gets elected this November.
The subliminal message to the “anything goes” lawless Democrats would be VERY transparent!

I’m hoping they get the message in November.
This is great news for the Primary, but, can she beat that idiot Democrat, Bruce Braley, in November? I can’t believe that Iowa is that far gone to elect Braley.
Two words: Tom Harkin
I understand that Joni Ernst has been endorsed by a member of the “castrati” named Willard M. Romney......
When you think about it, Mrs. Ernst has more military experience than all of her opponents combined. This fact alone speaks volumes.
Harkin ran initially as a Vietnam Veteran and a plausible moderate. Braley is a loon. As an aside, I’ll be Mr. Jacobs wishes her put a few years in the military. I wonder what it was that prevented him from serving his country either on active duty or as a reservist.
Palin as well and McCain.
Having watched my grandpa castrate pigs when I was a boy tells me that this is one ballsy lady. I would vote for her.
Braley is Iowa’s foremost elitist, condescending turd, or so says the editor of the Albia Iowa newspaper...

LOL... They really used the word “turd”.
