For White House, little joy in Cantor's defeat

For years, the White House saw House Majority Leader Eric Cantor as a chief driver of Republicans' staunch opposition to nearly all of President Barack Obama's agenda. Now, Cantor's stunning primary loss seems likely to make politics even more difficult for Obama.

Rather than opening a pathway for the president, Cantor's defeat could push Republicans more to the right and harden the House GOP's hostility toward the White House, virtually dooming Obama's efforts to pass a legacy-building immigration bill or other major legislation....

That is the hope, anyway.

Gosh-a-rootie. Bring out the Pepsi and chocolate milk. Anything that makes the White House feel bad has my support.

House leadership, Obama and the Chamber of Commerce don’t want Steve King anywhere near a microphone speaking about immigration. This is why Schumer won’t debate him.

Steve King: “Maybe we should be spending less time watching Comedy Central and more time considering all the real jobs that are out there, ones that require real hard labor and don’t involve sitting behind a desk. If we did, we’d realize that every day, American workers perform the dirtiest, most difficult, most dangerous jobs that can be thrown at them. From crab fishermen who venture out into some of the roughest and most dangerous waters in the world, to the Joe the Plumbers of the world who many days would prefer the aroma of fresh dirt to that of the sewage from American elitists who disparage them even as they flush. These are real Americans doing real jobs, task that simply must get done.”

Is it too early to petition the House of Representatives for the impeachment of the criminal fool playing the role of President?

“Some national Republican leaders have urged the party to back an overhaul of immigration laws in order to boost the GOP’s appeal to Hispanic voters, a rapidly growing subset of the electorate. Obama won more than 70 percent of the Hispanic vote in 2012.”

Reminds me of what someone said to me years ago when we both witnessed a small plane crash in California. The plane took off, got a few hundred feet up, the engine died, and it crashed trying to get back to the airport - serious injuries, but no deaths.

The cause looked like fuel starvation - the plane had enough gas in its lines and carburetor to get off the ground, but nothing in its tanks. So I said to the guy “they’re lucky they didn’t have any fuel, or there would have been a fire”. The guy said back to me “I’d take my chances with the fuel”.

Likewise, I’m willing to take my chances on NOT having 30,000,000 new voters, the vast majority of which will be Democrats - rather than having them here.

I do not believe Obama will be waving the white flag any time soon.He will find ways to bypass congress..AS he has done many times before this came up.Obama for example could say this is matter of national security and this is why I will use my pen and phone to keep us all safe
