The nine lives of Sarah Palin
The Washington Post's The Fix ^ | July 28, 2014 | Sebastian Payne

Posted on 07/28/2014 7:42:16 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sick of the “media filter”? Have $99.95 to spare? Sarah Palin has the answer with The Sarah Palin Channel, a new Web site full of news, videos, chats and exclusive insights into the life of the mamma grizzly. This new venture is the latest attempt to capitalize on Brand Palin, which has been through several iterations over the years. In fact, Palin has a remarkable ability to reinvent herself, both in politics and the media, when a venture comes to a halt. Here are nine times that Palin has managed to turn her hand at a new venture.

1. Mayor of Wasilla

This is where it all began. Palin entered her first significant political office in 1996 and stayed there for eight years, until she reached her term limit. Although the town only has a population of 8,000 or so, Palin managed to make her mark. She pushed for more federal earmarks, sacked the police chief, lowered property taxes by 75%, increased general government expenditure by 33% and was accused of censoring books in public libraries.

2. Governor of Alaska

Her first big time job. From 2006 to 2009, Palin served as the ninth governor of Alaska. Notable moments include supporting, then canceling the Bridge to Nowhere, decreasing the amount federal earmarks, cutting millions on spending she deemed unnecessary, promoting Alaska's oil and gas industry and pushing for ethics reform to clean up the state's political system.

3. Vice presidential candidate

John McCain picked Palin to be his 2008 running mate, launching her into the national spotlight and putting both her record in office and personal life under scrutiny. She was the first woman picked to be the Republican vice presidential nominee, but the “hockey mom” was criticized in some quarters for being “unqualified”(continued)

He's a Brit college student. Is he even eligible to vote? Skips over her time at the state energy commission and sending corrupt politicians to jail. Wonder why?

Palin was the sole person that kept obama from a massive landslide of a victory

“and was accused of censoring books in public libraries. “

He left off the part, where the accusation was completely false.

They are still fixated on destroying Palin. As the fuzzball says: the liberals will always tell you what they are afraid of. Go Sarah, let their underwear burn their nuts off.

I spoke to a lot of people about that election - an enormous number of people - and the vast number who voted R voted for Palin.

Only one or two expressed displeasure with Palin the others expressed displeasure with McCain. Palin they loved - McCain they had no interest in.

I recall speaking to a young Black girl about the election. She spoke about Palin and how she admired her, how it bothered her so much the way folks spoke about her. Her opinion about Obama was:
“ I know what he is...I would not vote for him. “

This was on the way to the Boston Public Library where I voted. I wished her well and brother, I never thought the American people could be so foolhardy.

Even Sarah couldn’t drag me over the line to vote for McCain. I have never regretted it.

Because of who he was, and who he remains, I couldn’t trust the character, motives, the rhetoric, or the brains of anyone who would agree to run with the creep. But that’s just me.

I was just “done” with the Establishment with McCain.

You have to understand that the GOP-e immediately started attacking Palin when they realized who and what she was (think Nicolle Wallace & her "bestie" Perky Katie Couric: Friendship: Katie Couric & Nicolle Wallace http://www.more.com/katie-couric-nicolle-wallace)

I've been around politics for quite a while, and I've seen what happens to people and/or organizations who can make a difference that can change the status quo.

They get carpet-bombed by the Establishment - the Demopubs/Republicrats, The Royal Purple Party (Red Party + Blue Party), and the Hillary Boehner Reid McCain types. It ain't pretty.

Free Republic got it. Jim Robinson got it. Sarah Palin got it. The Tea Party got it. Prominent members of the Tea Party got it.

Get it?

“but the “hockey mom” was criticized in some quarters for being “unqualified”

And the same idiot would tell us Elizabeth Warren was just fine.

I “got it” the moment McCain was nominated. The litany of the obvious you mention is, well,... obvious.

Hopefully, this means conservatives are better prepared in the future.

So it’s back to slamming Palin and Cruz, I see, and dangling Warren before the Reps as a distraction, while the powers that be are quietly pushing Devel Patrick in the side door

Same with the “bridge to nowhere”. They never mention that it would serve the airport in Ketchikan. The “ferry” from the airport to town carried about 10 vehicles if I recall correctly. It seemed more like a wooden raft with a boat attached than a ferry. And small enough to be very subject to the weather.
