It didn't take long for Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to embrace amnesty again.
As soon as he won his Senate primary election against conservative Joe Carr, Alexander said it was "embarrassing" that Republicans have not yet passed a bill.
Never mind that Alexander spent nearly his entire primary campaign trying to convince voters that he was against "amnesty" and would never dare to embrace it before the primary election.
I dont know how it will affect our politics in the near term," Alexander told Politico of a comprehensive immigration bill. I think its embarrassing for us not to deal with the problem, and I think we should do it in the next two years.
And though Alexander claimed that he won the primary because he did not run away from his record, he aired a deceptive ad in the final week of the campaign that claimed he "voted to end amnesty."(continued)

VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT (OR WHOMEVER)!!
What’s this? Another bought and paid for corporatist liar from the GOPe?
Between him and idiots like Ryan, the GOP is swirling the drain.
These arrogant traitors like the Democrats along side them have absolute contempt for the middle class in this country.
WOW - what a surprise - he turns back into a RINO after the primary! Who are the idiots that voted for this guy?
Makes me wonder if the country can be saved.
He was for it before he was against it before he was for it again.
I despise POS like lamar.
Conservatives may have a better chance of running as democrats in some states. Conservatives need to WIN. And it shouldn’t matter which party puts them in office.
damn .the body wasn’t even cold yet ..
And not only that but republicans can vote in democrat primaries in open primary states too.
Screw the republican party.
I am usually not a person who quits and goes home and I am pragmatic about my politics. However if I lived in TN, and I just saw this crap by Alexander, I would sit home on election day.
“...Who are the idiots that voted for this guy?”
::::::::
Well, they are the same ones that voted for him before.
“Stupid is, as stupid does.” — Gump
Just how many times do these politicians have to give voters the finger before they stop voting for them.
Cornyn did it. Graham did it. Cochran did something even worse. He went after votes from the other party. McConnell is in the hot seat because of his wife so he hasn’t done it yet. But he will.
Apparently we can’t beat the rinos. It’s been proven we can beat the democrats. My theory is to stay home and let the democrats take out the rinos. Then the next election we’ll take out the democrats.
I still want to know who in the heck are the dopes that voted for him in the primary? I’d sure as hell hope there aren;t Freepers that would still be voting for RINOs like this scumbag. Who the hell keeps voting for people like him, Cornyn, Cochran, Linseed Graham etc.?
I don’t think Dracula ever gets completely cold.
I must say that I am seeing the value of this strategy. The GOPe must be made to feel they need the votes of the GOPc in general elections. Those votes are now taken for granted. Honestly we don’t have many options to save the country!
Apparently we cant beat the rinos. Its been proven we can beat the democrats. My theory is to stay home and let the democrats take out the rinos. Then the next election well take out the democrats.
Unfortunately, I don’t believe we’re going to have that many more opportunities. The nation is in such rapid decline.
The GOPe machine too often decides their candidates. We need to run conservatives where they have the best place to win — democrat or republican. The republican party doesn’t deserve our loyalty anymore.
We need candidates that will tell both parties to kiss off when they get there.
I’m laughing at anyone who actually still thinks We The People have an actual voice in nationally-impacted elections.
Either we went Soviet and The Oligarchy now actually ‘chooses’ who is going to get the seats we supposedly vote for via bribes, corruption and election-stealing, or the Free Shit Army now outnumbers us and we lose no matter what.
I prefer the former, because a people can survive and overthrow tyrants who usurp the system to rule in power. However, a nation cannot survive a people who continually make tyrants their leaders.
If it is the latter, then we are finished and it is over.
If it is the Former, we have a window to act within to correct the tyranny being imposed on us without our consent.
Who says it can’t be both?
At some point we need to have independent conservatives to run as a third candidate. Once amnesty is passed, it will not matter if the republican wins or loses. Conservatives will not have a voice anymore.
I was reserving a sliver of optimism for myself.
If it’s both - then my FRiend we are in worse trouble than we currently understand.
And stopping this tyrannical oligarchy might be an impossibility altogether.
In which case, it’s going to be about raw survival, nothing more.
