Unfortunately, there’s probably nothing that can be done about this. He is the Pres, like it or not (apparently, most don’t), and he needs security and communication.
There are PLENTY of other things FAR more wasteful and corrosive to go after in January.
It must be a Democrat thing - there are stories about Johnson just about cleaning out the White House and Air Force Once of everything that wasn’t nailed down when he left office. I expect the same here.
I would like to see President Cruz sic the Justice Department on the Johnson family, and the Clintons, and the Obolas, to recover all the stolen furniture. Oh, and FDR had stamps with mistakes delivered to him straight from the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, for his stamp collection.
