Yes, Abbott is said to have gotten 44% of the hispanic vote...against abortion fanatic Wendy Davis who crashed and burned spectacularly.

And they say Cornyn won the Latino vote against...did he he even have an opponent?

So yeah, pretty good showing in Texas for the GOP this year among Hispanics. But overall the state’s growing hispanic population is a reliable vote for the Democrats, to the tune of 20 points or more.

Cruz’ staff claims he got 40% of the hispanic vote in 2012. There is not much reason to think that a white Cuban like Cruz will do all that well with Hispanics nationwide. I’d be surprised if he could match shameless panderer George W Bush’s 40% mark in 2004.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who is not Latino, just garnered 44% of the Hispanic vote. Governor-elect Abbott is Senator Ted Cruz’s main mentor, so however he pulled that off will be passed along to the Cruz camp. GUARANTEED.

Actually there is. The pro and anti-amnesty Hispanics are I think pretty much split in some recent polls nationwide.
