Actually, what you are seeing is a lack of a good conservative candidate. Palin withdrew, Perry screwed the pooch early, Santorum got support only from socons, Newt had a ton of baggage in spite of his debate performances and his strengths.We have a GOOD conservative candidate, with a good back up if he falters.

I also think Jeb is a worse candidate than either Romney or McCain, he simply has no constituency and excites no one. Plus that last name of his.......

Actually, what you are seeing is a lack of a good conservative candidate.

What I see in that map are a whole bunch of blue states chock full of moderate Republicans who don't post on Free Republic, but who do vote in primaries.

Purple and green; Gingrich and Santorum. Cruz needs all that combined and he'll still have less than half the delegates Romney earned.

The reality of the situation is he is going to have to sell the Cruz brand to a whole lot of orange squares that said no to Gingrich, no to Santorum and yes to Mitt Romney.
