By going first, Ted Cruz soaked up more attention than fellow Republicans Rand Paul and Marco Rubio.
Hillary Clinton's low-key 2016 presidential announcement still drowned out Marco Rubio's glitzier launch.
But Ted Cruz made the biggest media splash among the three Republicans to kick-start candidacies, in part by risking an early and unorthodox launch.
Those are the major takeaways from a new study measuring the media impact of the first four White House campaign announcements by GOP consulting firm The Gage Group and Zignal Labs, a media story-tracking platform that pinpoints trends in real time.
News of Clinton's announcement easily trumped the buzz around each of the Republicans, but Cruz's rollout packed the most punch within his own party. On April 12, Clinton eclipsed 675,000 public mentions, which include references in news accounts, social media and blog posts, and videos. The second-highest tally stemmed from Cruz's announcement, which even at its peak accumulated just a third of what Clinton managed.
The study also found that Rand Paul's announcement was the least successful in generating buzz....

Hillary had 11 people waiting for her at her first campaign appearance. She is the easiest to beat. Cruz will have a field day with her.
Cruz the splash to American exceptionalism...
Hillary’s a splash in the John after eating burritos, then flush..
Was told by a Rand Paul supporter that Rand Paul is formidtible, this proves them wrong.
Hillary has 47% locked and (if there's no serious primary challenger) $2.5 billion to bribe the remaining 4% needed to win.
But I hope you're right.
This election will be all about turnout. If enough folks can be convinced that “not another Clinton” is just as good of a reason to stay home as “not another Bush” is, we should do quite well.
Cruz was smart to have it at a University where it was mandatory attendance. That way even those who didn’t want to be there got the message he was giving. Not bad. Clinton is trying to be an everyday person but after 67 years of being nobility is difficult to pull off. Someone else probably could pull it off but there is no way she can.
Its a good time to cough up a donation.
Probably still made a splash though.
BIG BOTTOM MAMA RODHAM
To Big A$$ to Fail
Clinton’s announcement was hardly a dribble, much less a big splash.
Only her sycophants saw it was a big success. Most others, even many media people, saw it was a big flop.
The communist left concentrate their ammunition on one candidate. On the right we have, how many? 16? The money is diffused and we eat each other while the left marches on. In the general election the fraud forces come out and fix the elections in places like Philly, Chicago, the Palm Beaches and Miami, LA and now it seems that places like Austin in Texas and some border areas are being turned it will take a concentrated effort behind one true conservative to pull our country away from the precipice of disaster. I pray we can settle on a candidate early in the process in order to stop the democrat left fraud machine.
It’s difficult to understand why Hillary would need any splash at all. Surely she is one of the most recognized persons in the world.
LOL I was told off a Paulbot that Paul is like Cruz and a conservative. He went on to tell me that Paul can win because he gets blacks and kids out to vote. LOL
They keep trying to paint the liberal-tarian as Cruz and it’s not working so they keep infiltrating sites like this repeating the same old lies.
And Twits.
Look below...
done.
Well, if they are measuring “media impact”, of course Hillary generated more “media buzz”, duh. The media just wishes Cruz would go away, while they are obsessed with Clinton.
