A Senate committee rejected an immigration-legislation amendment offered by Sen. Ted Cruz today that would have added significant security resources along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The amendment proposed tripling the number of Border Patrol agents stationed along the U.S.-Mexico border and quadrupling equipment, “including cameras, sensors, drones and helicopters,” within three years. And the 700 miles of border fence required by a 2006 law would need to be finished.

Exactly. One thing that Republicans overlook is the possibility that LEGAL immigrants may become outraged at pols who pander to ILLEGALS.
BTW, several years ago, some goon called oldchicago tried to intimidate me in an e-mail by telling me that “You had better pipe down about Obama, Bob.” I replied that I will tell the truth about the Marxist dirtbag until the day I die.

I think if Ted was pandering in this case he would be talking more in Spanish.

Yes, Cruz is a Reagan nut job too, if he were elected we would surely invade Mexico./S ;)

The problem with the mindset of ‘courting’ specific interest groups and pandering to them is that a candidate becomes a ‘pander bear’ as the next group wants special treatment and the next group wants special treatment...until there are no more cookies in the jar.
Senator Cruz is proposing issues that will help all the people, uniting us with a shared vision, and will not further divide and inflame the country like Mr. Obama has done.
The divided and discouraged Democrats are not the main opponents for Mr. Cruz. Defeating the cowardly, corrupt Republican leadership is his greatest problem.
Winning the Presidency is part winning the intellectual high ground on the issues and part is having a personality that Americans trust and are comfortable with.
I think Senator Cruz has an inner Reagan that makes winning possible,...if all of his supporters work their butts off.

Thank you for your Post #11. I’ve been promoting her for the GOP VP slot for a year now and she’s finally starting to catch on with others as well. If the GOP really wants to win in 2016 (which I’m not sure that the GOP Establishment really does) they will put Gov. Susana Martinez on the Ticket.

Either the US government get’s their shit together, or the people WILL deal with it. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Bullshit! I've been saying we need a good ol' butt kickin' Revolution in this country for 2 years now, but, it ain't happening. Most people just like to bitch and complain, but when it comes down to "fish or cut bait", they wimp out. Hell, a lot of folks who claim to be Conservative warriors didn't even have the moxie to vote in 2012; and they're the ones who complain the loudest when they don't have the right to say anything because they helped put B. Hussein Obama back in the White House to finish destroying this nation.
The American people will deal with it my ass!!!

You’re welcome. I don’t know much about her, but she seems to be a warm and sweet person, and conservative enough. And she is an INCREDIBLE CONTRAST to the The Hag.

Nothing like working up a bunch of texans.

Texas has a conundrum to work out. They have one foot in mexico, and one foot in the US.

From what the rest of the US has experienced, the foot in mexico has more say than the one in the US.

This goes for the other border states as well. Texas has more in common with california than it has with Wisconsin.

This is why I find the motives of any politician out of the southern states highly suspect in their motives.

The state that gave us LBJ and the bush clan deserves the utmost scrutiny of the electorate, for the sole reason: who's interests do you represent? Those of the US? or the money coming out of mexico?

I can understand you being suspect. But, I believe that Sen. Cruz and Gov. Abbott are above reproach. But then, never trust any politician 100%.
