The linked story leaves a number of holes. Did the group sponsoring the children's event have a permit for the park? Did the city cancel the permit? Had any funds been expended in preparation for the event, and were those reimbursed? If reimbursed, was the payment made by the city, or by the Clinton campaign>
Apart from the optics, there is a legal question involved if the city took actions and/or expended funds to benefit a political campaign. Yes, I know this is New York, a party state, but the rest of us can still object.
