There is a problem with that. Many of his biggest supporters are saying and doing everything they possibly can attempting to destroy Trump. How's that going to work? Do they simply retract everything said and alleged?

My .02: Cruz wants to establish a relationship early so that when The Donald gets bored (he always does) and gets out, he’ll throw his support (both voters and funds) to Cruz. I’ll bet Ted is a formidable chess player. He plans his moves far ahead. You can tell.

Jane, I just didn’t think it was nice of Trump to say that it was a “meeting”, but rather a request from Cruz. I am overly sensitive about slights toward Ted.
Maris, I can certainly understand support for my Sen Ted Cruz...who happens to be smarter than most, in given room he may occupy. No need to be sensitive for Sen Cruz...he’s tough as nails.
“Trump/lump” and “opportunist creep” are names I’m sure Sen Cruz would not appreciate hearing Mr Trump being called.
I too like hearing the bold and brash rhetoric, but the overall picture of Trump reveals he doesn’t mean it like we are hearing it.
I went to Trump's website.
Where does he stand on Obamacare, and abortion within it?
Where does he stand on minimum wage?
Where does he stand on gay marriage, and religious freedom?
Where does he stand on Common Core?
I look at pics of Trump and believe he is running to win. He is serious.
I look Trump's actions and see an admirable, generally constructive business opportunist. An admirable one, but with zero guiding political principles, that I can see. Nothing on his website tells me about his political philosophy. He has none.
He has passion for the game and for throwing himself into succeeding at what he aims for.
Other than that ...
Ted Cruz, on the other hand, I know exactly where he stands on those things, I know Cruz abhors excess government for the same reason I do. I know Cruz believes in the Christian essence of America, founded on Christian principles, the same way I do. I know Cruz wants to repeal Obamacare, as I do. I know Cruz and I are on the same limited government Christian conservative page.
I know Trump is a passionate achiever of personal goals, and I admire him for it.

I agree with you that if you want a brilliant conservative President, Cruz is your candidate. Mine too.
We weren’t looking at a for sure Cruz nomination. It was a long shot. We were looking at a GOPe nominee against Clinton. We were staring at a couple years full of lies and media manipulation.
The way Trump has come in bearing fresh, ballsy truth has spared us so far from such a campaign season. We were looking at Jeb or Hillary. If Trump is socially liberal, he still beats those losers hands down: he loves America, he hates illegal immigration, he knows how to create jobs, and he WROTE the Art of the Deal. He is not afraid of the media and not beholden to anyone.
Don’t you see? It’s not about his exact positions on the issues. He’s already better than what we have now and might have without him.
Shrewd of Sen. Cruz. If the Donald is sucking up all the media coverage overshadowing all other candidates, then go to where the spotlight is shining and steal the show. Only Ted Cruz can out-troll Trump. ;)
