They have no idea how pissed the base is for one...second they are severely underestimating the support for Cruz and Trump, and how organized and motivated the Cruz supporters are. Cruz probably has the widest coalition across the country, and they already are mobilizing a massive amount of money to his campaign. GOP elites see the tsunami coming.
See my tagline...
Things like this is what birthed the Tea Party.
They are galvanizing the pissed off people.
Good observation, gwgn02. But, they also are counting on the ‘votes’ of folks who are voting against Hillary. It has nothing to do with policy, campaign platforms, or core beliefs (they have none). It is all about winning. They don’t see a need to maintain, let alone champion, conservative values. They see only a need to rail against HRC and dhimmicraps; even though they are not that far apart on substantive issues.
To date, the GOPe has caved on:
Debt Ceiling
Downsizing Government
Privatizing Social Security
Tax Reform
Border Security
Immigration Control
Amnesty for Illegals
Criminal Activities in Government (State, IRS, EPA, etc.)
There is NOTHING left that recommends them to true conservative voters, other than they are running against(?) dhimmicraps.
There is no doubt we need a third party. We’ve needed that for the last 30 years or more. Every election cycle, though, conservatives end up compromising their core principles, casting votes for dhimmicrap-lite candidates, or sitting home.
In the current cycle, we have Ted Cruz still standing tall for conservative principles. While Donald Trump is making waves, I cannot accept that he is anything near ‘conservative’. His stand on nationalized healthcare, alone, is enough to show off his true colors.
Maybe we can still get Ted Nugent to jump in.
