How does Ted Cruz, a champion debater at Princeton University, attorney who argued before the Supreme Court and now Republican White House aspirant, prepare for Thursday's presidential debate?
By spending two days holed up in a townhouse on Capitol Hill, discussing strategy and how to break through in a field of 10 candidates while still staying on message.
"Our focus is simply conveying the same core message that we convey in every forum," Cruz, who rarely has problems staying on message, said in an interview with The Washington Post. "Which is that weve seen far too many campaign conservatives who talk a good game on the campaign trail but dont follow through on their commitments."
Cruz said he has a "trusted" team of friends and advisers -- he wouldn't name names, but his senior staff was there preparing with him -- who have spent hours getting ready for the debate....

A debate or candidate forum is going to be where Cruz can make the biggest impact. He absolutely has to kill it.
He also has to be prepared for any attempt to marginalize or sabotage him. They’re going to be either gunning for him or trying to push him out of the spotlight. Or both.
There’s been a lot of talk recently in the press that the winner from the kiddie table debates would “graduate” to the adult debates and displace someone.
Whether one likes him or utterly despises Cruz, I cannot see how everyone cannot easily see that he is BY FAR the most skilled on his feet debater. Everyone who tries to take him on verbally looks like me playing some one on one against Michael Jordan.
That Medea Benjamin intimidates the whole capital. And he invited her on stage when she heckles, and then chews her up and sends her home humiliated. And how many journalists has he destroyed almost with a smirk. Its effortless for him.
And now hes going up against the amateurs of he GOP.
Id like to see him on stage against Hillary. She would be in deep over her head.
They all have to avoid “hoof and mouth” disease. Then it’s a matter of knowing your
material and making a coherent presentation.
At least he’s in the top 10 that do the actual debate tomorrow night..
regardless of how good any of the “kiddie’s table” group are the fact they are not in that first debate will go against them...
what happens then ???
will the 2nd debate be the 10 who got the most points from either group ???
or will it be the top polling candidates again ???
the kiddie table ones will have strikes against them..
then again Jebbie, Kasich and Walker might be so bad they get washed out for the 2nd debate...leaving room for at least Jindal..
oh and due to what Rubio said today and all the other days, I hope he goes down tomorrow...
CNN debate
The first 10 candidates ranked from highest to lowest in polling order from an average
of all qualifying polls released between July 16 and September 10 who satisfy the criteria requirements outlined in this document will be invited
to participate in Segment B of the September 16, 2015 Republican Presidential Primary
Debate. In the event of a tie for 10th place, the tiebreaker will be an average of all
qualifying polls released between August 26 and September 10. The second tiebreaker will be
an average of all qualifying polling conducted in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and
Nevada released between July 16 and September 10.
Candidates who satisfy the criteria and achieve an average of at least one percent in three
national polls, but are not ranked in the top 10 of polling order will be invited to participate
in Segment A of the September 16, 2015 Republican Presidential Primary Debate.
CNN also notes that if the number of candidates who qualify overall for the debate are 14 or
less, they will limit Segment B to only eight candidates and the rest will spill over to
the second tier Segment A.
If Hillary and Ted are the nominees, she won’t debate him. You heard it here first.
Ideas and demeanor are everything.
“Prepare”? Well, by just showing up!
Well, that's a safe assumption if I ever heard one:)
She won't even debate Bernie Sanders lol
If she gets the Dem nomination I don’t think she will debate anyone, especially TED CRUZ.
She will come up( along with the press) with some excuse to change the plans. And that is my opinion.
