I agree. And Cruz possesses a small fraction of Trump’s wealth. What is more critical in winning elections, intellect or money or personality? Why is Trump leading in every poll?

You foolishly put your faith in polls? OK. Here are a few for you.

Poll: Donald Trump Leads GOP Primary Rivals, Trails Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders

Poll: Bernie Sanders would beat Donald Trump

Poll: Trump leads the GOP field but falters against Clinton

Donald Trump Polls Weakest Against Hillary Clinton

First Trump has to win nomination before he runs against Hillary or Sanders. First things first. If Trump does not win nomination, polls against Hillary are meaningless.

So.......right now I am only looking at step ONE. The republican nomination. And who is leading all those polls? If a candidate can’t win nomination, any polls of him against democrats are 100% meaningless.

Right now Trump is leading by big margins! It is YUGE!

When you owe the bank $100,000, they own you. When you owe the bank $1,000,000,000 You own the bank.

The banks had no choice, had they not agreed to refinancing and going the extra mile, he would have reorganized in bankruptcy and they would have gotten next to nothing. As it stands he was able to pay them back and is now supposedly a lean debt company owing very little. When Real estate headed south in ‘07-’08 Trump was never under the gun, he was a buyer. That is when he divested from his casinos and bought into golf courses at a discounted price.

In other words he seems to have learned his lesson about over extending.

You are right, but who will pay? Earlier it was the banks if he is POTUS it will be...

I think it is way too soon for anyone to be polishing their acceptance speech for the convention, mush less the one for the inauguration.

As it stands now, Trump has a better than fair chance to win the nomination. I suspect he has a better chance than anyone at this point. Certainly better than Bush who is clueless and sinking fast.

I still hope for a Cruz presidency as he is legitimately the smartest guy in any room he is in an almost certainly the most conservative.

Can't wait to hear how stupid Cruz is from the media.

We are already paying. He at least wants to spend Mexico's money on a new wall.

Regardless, he has brought up the most important issue we have. Immigration. We have an out of control illegal AS WELL as Legal immigration problem. We are being invaded by the Third World Hoards much like Rome was invaded and picked apart by the Vandals and the Barbarians.

YES, it is more important than Iran, Iraq, ISIS or even the debt and economy because immigration exposes us to all those problems as well as cultural collapse form lack of assimilation.

Santorum actually has the best Immigration policy to not only end illegal immigration, but cut LEGAL immigration by 25% minimum and end most H1B visas as they are a way to drive down American workers wages.

Those folks were not in Trump’s position. He is truly in a class of time, of his own. The factors you cite are not relevant.

Trump’s supposed to be a pretty smart money guy. Does he know that the unfunded liability for Social Security is something north of $70 trillion??

Do you know that there's over a hundred trillion in American real estate that's being used to back our foreign debt? And that's not all of it, either.

I agree with you about immigration, but it is not sufficient to win the nomination. The key issue is to win the election, and the candidate has to be electable.

That's your opinion but it is just opinion and it is not based in fact. Here are a few facts for you.

Polls contemplate a vote today, but we are still 6 months from the Iowa caucuses.

Polls contemplate a national primary, but states vote one at a time or in small groups.

Polls contemplate a race with 17 candidates, but several candidates will drop out before Iowa and several more will drop out before the other states vote.

Polls contemplate1 a winner-take-all vote, but most states are not winner-take-all.

Polls contemplate a vote among all Republican-leaning registered voters or adults, but in fact only a small fraction of them will turn out for primaries and caucuses.

Regardless, he has brought up the most important issue we have. Immigration.

Actually, that's not entirely true. Ted Cruz was talking about immigration as far back as March when Trump didn't talk of it until 3 months later when he announced in June.

Yep, just my simple minded opinion. Regardless of polls. Stood on the earth for a few of days, and know the winds. Thank you for the education. Apparently, I have teachers, preachers and wunderkinds unknown to me, for the last 60 some years. Now, you all show up at once. Amazing synchronicity, perhaps. Then again, who is saying that? Huh? My laugh is out loudly. Thanks.

Are you really so afraid of Trump winning the nomination?

YES, YES, YES, for the love of God, YES!

I am very thankful for him using his influence(/money) to draw attention to a couple of key issues (even if he gets the details way wrong) in a very loud way, however, I'm a conservative and I'm done holding my nose.
