Presidential candidates looking for a less crowded, more intimate debate could make the trek to North Texas for a forum at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
Sponsored by the Faith & Freedom Coalition, the event is scheduled for Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. at the church in Plano.
According to an invitation to the event, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are scheduled to be part of the forum. Along with most of the Republican field, Democratic Party candidates Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont were also invited.
Prestonwood Baptist Church has about 40,000 members.
As Christians, it is critical that we take seriously our rights as citizens of this great country by educating ourselves on all candidates in any election and to participate fully in the election process by voting our values, said Prestonwood Baptist Church Pastor Jack Graham. We cannot afford to stand on the sidelines as our Christian values are continually trampled.
Graham will interview each candidate for at least 10 minutes. Contenders attending the forum will have 10 minutes to address the audience...
