Former Senator Bob Dole of Kansas endorsed Jeb Bush for president on Wednesday, saying he believed that the former Florida governor was the best qualified candidate â and also making clear that he still held a grudge against Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.
The endorsement, timed for Veterans Day â Mr. Dole fought in World War II â was announced by Mr. Bushâs campaign. But NBC News, in a brief interview with Mr. Dole, the Republican nominee for president in 1996, had cool words for only one candidate.

The bigger question is who dies first , Dole or the Bush campaign?
Well, sure, BOB DOLE has endorsed Yeb. Even so, I think I’ll wait till JACK SQUAT weighs in. [As I value their opinions equally]

One Designated Loser endorsing another one.
One milquetoast passes the baton to another. Drop the D and you get Jeb ‘Ole...Now old Bob knows how to lose to a Clintoon. Here’s your mentor Yeb.
How do you know Bob Dole took his Viagra? Libby has pen marks on her back.

In 1996 I ran for office in CT and shared a line with Bob Dole in a district where the big town had a Republican mayor, and the little town had plenty of Republicans.
I only managed to cobble together 32% of the vote, which looks lousy until you find that the head of the ticket only got 26%.
Jeb! can take the Bob Dole Course of Success. Happy Trails!
