Except, of course, that he's taken in millions in donations.

Yup, from regular Joe American. That's a good donor to be beholden to.

If you listen to the actual speech you’ll see the representation made by the article is incorrect.

Here is Trump seriously questioning whether or not Israel wants a deal. He sounds like someone who thinks he could negotiate with lunatics like the terrorists yesterday and give them something other than submission and they will be content and go away. I am a Trump fan but I am very troubled by this.

I like Trump, but I must say that I am uncomfortable with even the slightest criticism toward Israel on this matter. Why? Because they are so brutally and unfairly hated by so many. Regarding the “peace process,” first, more is being asked of Israel than is reasonable or would be asked of ANY other country. Second, I interpret their behavior as VERY justifiable and wise suspicion, not insincerity.

I am not Jewish. I am Christian. The facts are the facts.

Thank you for referencing the speech. I jump on these things knowing better. I’ll have to listen later.

He was treated like a rock star, applause, people recording him on their phones, laughing with him. One time, one guy went off and Trump confronted him, said he’ll be happy in the end not to sweat it.

If you were referring to the Jerusalem comments than I apologize. I haven't seen the video. But the video I posted speaks for itself about Israel possibly not wanting a deal.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this youtube clip. Trump is saying that Israel would be in the driver’s seat and if it wants to broker a deal than fine. If Israel does not want to broker a deal Trump just said he understood that and would be ok with it.

Sounds like he is very, very supportive of Israel. Nothing wrong here.

Trump said he would understand that if Israel does not want to give up a part of Israel to muslims that he would understand that, another media hackjob indeed

After having carefully reviewed the speech, we do not believe that it was Donald Trump’s intention to evoke anti-Semitic stereotypes. He has made similar comments about spending his own money on the campaign, and not asking for money from donors, to many other groups.

Here, context is everything. Mr. Trump’s presentation was completely supportive of Israel and the Jewish community, even if one might disagree with him on some of the other issues he raised.

We have not hesitated to criticize Mr. Trump when he crossed the line. For example, in his recent remarks about immigrants referring to Mexicans as “rapists and criminals” and his failure to stand up to an anti-Muslim bigot at a campaign rally, he not only used stereotypes but exhibited hostility.

In this case he is speaking to a group of Jewish Republicans, a significant portion of whom are business people. We do not believe he intended his comments regarding negotiations and money to relate specifically to their Jewishness, but we understand that they could be interpreted that way. We encourage him to clarify that this was not his intention, and that he rejects the traditional stereotypes about Jews and money.

The Anti-Defamation League is calling bs on this

What could Trump possibly want Israel to offer that they haven't in the past?
It really sounds like he doesn't understand that everyone else in the Mideast will only be happy when Israel is annihilated.
Someone like Ted Cruz could make Trump look very bad on this issue in the next debate.

Just say that you are a Cruz supporter and you won’t vote for anyone else.

You have no idea what Trump will do and you have no idea how good of a relationship he has with Bibi.

Not endorsing Israel’s chosen capital is a funny way to endorse it’s leader.

First, Bibi asked Trump to do a video endorsement for him during the last election. Second, Trump has won many honors from Jewish organizations, and he has given large donations to them. Finally, his daughter Ivanka has converted to Judaism, the religion of her husband. Trump's support of Israel is unquestioned.

Anyone who knows the background of the region, understands why no US President has unilaterally supported the move of our embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing it as the capital of Israel. It won't be resolved until there is a resolution of the problem of Palestine.

There are no countries that have an embassy in Jerusalem. They are all located in Tel Aviv and the outskirts.

Congress has passed many resolutions to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem, but they contain a wavier to give the President the authority to decline to do so. It is just kabuki theater. The US will not move our embassy to Jerusalem until there is a settlement of the issues with Palestine.

The United Kingdom position on Jerusalem states, "Jerusalem was supposed to be a ‘corpus separatum’, or international city administered by the UN. But this was never set up: immediately after the UNGA resolution partitioning Palestine, Israel occupied West Jerusalem and Jordan occupied East Jerusalem (including the Old City). We recognised the de facto control of Israel and Jordan, but not sovereignty. In 1967, Israel occupied E Jerusalem, which we continue to consider is under illegal military occupation by Israel. Our Embassy to Israel is in Tel Aviv, not Jerusalem. In E Jerusalem we have a Consulate-General, with a Consul-General who is not accredited to any state: this is an expression of our view that no state has sovereignty over Jerusalem."

The UK believes that the city's status has yet to be determined, and maintains that it should be settled in an overall agreement between the parties concerned, but considers that the city should not again be divided. The Declaration of Principles and the Interim Agreement, signed by Israel and the PLO on 13 September 1993 and 28 September 1995 respectively, left the issue of the status of Jerusalem to be decided in the ‘permanent status’ negotiations between the two parties.

We have essentially the same position as the UK. Trump is actually right about not making a commitment to move our embassy to Jerusalem. It would be far easier to pander to his audience. He didn't to his credit.
