Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry stated during an interview Thursday on Fox News that he believes Sen. Ted Cruz will be backing Donald Trump.
Perry, who also ran for president during this election cycle and later endorsed fellow Texan Cruz, announced his endorsement of Trump last month after Cruz ended his bid.
Fox News host Dagen McDowell asked Perry on Thursday afternoon if he thought Trump would get vocal support from Cruz.
“I do. Listen, we all get our feelings hurt…but at the end of the day this about America,” Perry replied. “I feel that Sen. Cruz loves his country. He’s a great patriot, and at the end of the day, he’s going to be helping the Republican nominee.”
In early April, Cruz was asked whether he would support Donald Trump, if he should prevail in the Republican race.

“Well, listen, I don’t make a practice of supporting people that attack my wife and attack my family, and I believe Donald as the nominee is a disaster. (It) hands the election to Hillary Clinton,” he told Fox News Megyn Kelly.
Cruz’s reference was to a retweet that Trump posted to his Twitter account featuring an unflattering picture of Heidi Cruz next to a glamorous one of Melania Trump, and another tweet in which the now presumptive GOP threatened to “spill the beans” on Mrs. Cruz.
Trump, more-or-less, admitted in an interview with Kelly last month that the retweet of the wives’ picture was a mistake, or at least something he could have “done without.”
Trump has picked up the endorsements of several of his former GOP rivals including, Perry, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (or at least a pledge to help), New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Ben Carson, former governors Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal....

Cruz, like Ryan, won’t want to arrive in their future having failed to support the Republican nominee should Dullary pull off a win.
If TRUMP should beat her like a drum, then the pair of them would look more like a stand alone Odd Couple.
Right now, Ryan and Cruz have been full of themselves this past year, having sailed on the wind, and in defeat just look like bad sports with each passing day.
So Ryan has come around. The Big Guy has the votes of the people and has pulled off a hostile take over. I’m even thankful for the hostility— it’s been a long time coming.
I remember when we were all praying for such a thing.
More about Lyn’ Cruz?! Give it a break, he lost, was rejected, and NO ONE CARES or wants to ever hear from him again. At this point nothing he or his lingering couple of clinging on supporters do matter. Anyone with any common sense, and self-respect, and conservative principles have recognized that a Canadian cannot be our president and that with Clinton on the horizon, only choice is immediate and robust support for Trump. Anything less AIDS Clinton.

Obviously you think Ted should risk Hillary getting elected rather than suck up his wounded pride and do his duty to help defeat her.

I’m just trying to explain why Senator Cruz didn’t rush to the microphones when he suspended his campaign to hurriedly endorse Don Trump. He almost certainly will, at some point. Those things I listed are not minor incidents.
