Oklahomas governor, Mary Fallin, said Donald Trump was trying to campaign as a racial healer, as the presumptive Republican nominee tried to paint himself as a unifying force in a country feeling fractured over race, violence and policing.
I think that has been part of his message, if you watched what he said this week, Fallin told CNN on Sunday, alluding to police shootings of two black men in Louisiana and Minnesota, and the murder of five officers in Dallas, Texas.
He talked about how devastating this was for Dallas, how we have to respect our law enforcement and we need to pray for those who were killed and injured.
Fallin is widely considered one of Trumps possible picks for vice-president, but she said she was not currently being vetted to be his running mate though its certainly an honor to be mentioned....

He is not going to win Blacks over, they are Slaves to their Democrat voter plantation owners.
Not all of them, but he does have the potential to win over a larger number than previous Republican Presidential candidates.
Kudos to him for trying!
You couldn’t be more wrong. Trump has high black support. Higher than any gop ever.
Why? Because they respect hard business negotiating, and his hard persona that takes opponents head on and can’t be bullied. They can also see that he has genuine respect for them and isn’t just saying whatever it takes to please them.
He will have a larger black vote than ever before in modern gop history.
He can hardly do worse that “The Great Uniter” has done in the last 7-1/2 years.
What does that mean exactly? As long as he doesn't start pandering. Or offering up that it is whites who need to 'understand'. This one way race crap has got to stop.
I have a feeling lots of blacks make be just as sick of bilingual education and open borders as whites.
Trump makes a great point about stopping the $42+billion going to illegal immigrants & using that money to rebuilt inner cities.
He may but there is a considerable portion of the population that has smelt the blood in the water and they are never backing down or assimilating.
There are probably a majority of blacks who don’t agree with what’s going on. The problem is the “don’t snitch” mentality where they don’t stand up to their thugs. I suspect that Trump can get quite of that vote, as hillary panders to the thug element.
True, and the fact, is neither Party cares about them. Democrats loathe them, and Republicans pretty much ignore them. This is where Trump has an opportunity to reach out to a segment of the population that both parties have ignored.
Trump should start mentioning that votes are cast behind a curtain and nobody will know who you vote for. The frequency of this message should increase as election day gets closer.
So? So did Odingus. And you lapped.it up.
How’s that working out?
“He will have a larger black vote than ever”
I think after the convention, which will have plenty of sports and entertainment figures, his numbers with minorities in general will go up, maybe enough to scare the crap out of the Beast and win the election.
I don’t see what Mary does.
I see Trump talks of what is wrong behavior and what is right behavior of various people no matter color or what.
when are people gonna stop the color talk and talk of character, substance of situations?
The black guy who works with me is reconsidering his support of whatsername and just might come around to the right way of thinking.
It’s amazing how much friendlier people get when economic times improve and they are no longer losing ground.
I really do think that this is a pocketbook election no matter how much the Democrats want it to be a social issues election.
Even the social issue being pushed is actually a “taxation without representation” issue. The non-astroturf protesters simply want accountability in their civil servants.
After Obama, literally anyone would be a healer in comparison.
I think you need to add another zero to that number. :-)
