John Edwards couldn’t even win North Carolina for John Kerry. He was a pretty boy from the South seen as the next coming of Bill Clinton.
Those days are over.
And as I recall, in 2004, Edwards declined to run for reelection to the Senate, because of fears he wouldn’t be reelected. This decision was made before John Kerry chose him as his running mate.
