It was a 7.62x39 SKS. CNN et al have been going batsh!t about it being an "assault rifle".
My understanding is that it has the ballistics of a .30-30, and the one I shot had the rear sight cranked over so far, just to keep the hits on the paper, that there were zero clicks of windage left.
I was underwhelmed.
