Former Sen. Bob Dole on Saturday praised President Donald Trump's European trip, calling his speech in Poland "one for the ages" and saying that the nation "should be proud of the strong American leadership being restored by President Trump."
"I want to congratulate President Trump and all Americans on the president's successful trip to Europe this week," Dole, 93, the five-term Kansas senator and former Republican presidential and vice presidential nominee, said in a statement released by the White House via Twitter.....

Well, you didn’t have much choice, but I would have preferred a conservative. He was so phony.
Nope. Back in the late 80s, Dole lead the fight to get a balanced budget amendment. He did not have the votes in the senate so he voted against it to shelve it so it could be brought up again. He was ONE vote shy.
It was the mid 90s. My bad, and I thought I remember it during the late 80s.
