The one thing that always fascinated me with Trump during the campaign was everyone accepting that he was a fabulous negotiator.
Throughout his career, he has been a pretty terrible negotiator - often seriously overpaying for properties. What he has always been good at is getting his partners as deep into the weeds as he is so they are generous on the back-end bailout.
It was never clear to me how this strategy was going to work in politics.
Funny how most of his severest critics have 2016 and 2017 sign-on dates. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.
