I read an essay back, oh circa 2001... that was dated, IIRC, in the 90’s - that was hosted somewhere on the West Point IT infrastructure, publicly visible from the Internet, regarding how Socialism was become popular among certain members of the cadre.
Can’t find it any more - but that kid exemplifies the mindset.

Ummmmm, the delusion goes on and on. Sure, Bernie LOOKS like a benevolent old uncle, and he may have some rapport with the non-establishment types,
But rapport is NOT support, by any means. Bernie STILL looks like he would be pretty incompetent if in the same room with Vladimir Putin, or even on the phone with Kim Jong Un. And he would melt under a harsh look from Xi Jinping. He would be in WAY over his head in the company of Middle Eastern heads of state, and even the French may sneer in his direction. And of course, there would be little love lost between Bernie and most of the rest of the Anglophone world. Except maybe New Zealand.
Kid probably has about 3 or 4 dozen deep bruises about now.

Didn’t read anything about her rationale for how he would’ve beaten Trump.
A life-long useless eater, failed carpenter, and only received his first real “paycheck” after becoming mayor (i.e. taxpayer teat). Whereas Trump continued to grow the family business, his whole career in private business, paying tens of thousands of people all over the world.
I actually did want to see them debate, and I still want to see it. Trump would make a worldwide joke of crazy uncle Bernie.
