I think it's because Cruz is actually a conservative and will vote as a conservative, despite his personal animosity toward Trump - something John McCain obviously will not do.

And that's all I care about - I want senators and a president who honor their campaign promises. I couldn't care less if they like each other or not - this is not middle school.
