Why Donald Trump's return to Ohio is a big deal
The Plain Dealer ^ | August 16, 2018 | Andrew J. Tobias

CLEVELAND, Ohio — There’s an argument to be made that President Donald Trump would be best served by spending his precious time between now and the November election focusing on states other than Ohio.

Ohio ranks pretty low on the list of battleground races that will determine which party controls the U.S. House of Representatives next year, even though a handful of races for Republican-held seats here could be unusually close.

Similarly, battleground Senate races in other states also seem more competitive. This is best illustrated by the telling lack of Senate-related political spending in Ohio so far by the outside political groups that have flooded the airwaves with millions of dollars in political ads in past elections.

But Trump has his reasons, politically speaking, for visiting Ohio on Aug. 24 to headline a pair of fundraisers — one for the Ohio Republican Party, the other for Rep. Jim Renacci, the Republican Senate nominee who's challenging Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown. Most extend beyond 2018 to Trump’s presumed re-election campaign in 2020.

Here are some of the reasons why Trump’s latest visit matters, and some of the reasons that explain why he’s spending so much time in Ohio....

I think Trump likes a challenge, he is not afraid to fail. And if he fails, he learns and comes back again.

Possibly he’s also getting a little fun out of being in OH to yank Kasich’s chain a bit.

Kasick and his fellow Reptilians have a deep hatred of anyone and anything that supports Trump. Their endorsed fave the LtGov got what she deserved...not just defeated, but humiliated. Renacci the US Senate nominee, is a Trump guy. Kasick and the state Republican Party are doing NOTHING to support these two. Yup, their plan seems to be to let them lose and keep control of the party.

How sick is that?

Trump is building his own network of campaign workers. Every person attending is a potential “get out to vote” or poll worker.

Sick, but typical GOPe. Remember back in 2012 when Romney had ObaMao on the ropes after the first debate? I think his handlers told him to back off or he might actually win, so he obliged.

Rep. Jim Renacci is running behind Sherrod Brown in all the Ohio polls, so if the race starts to tighten, he might actually come to Pennsylvania and see if he can do the same thing with Lou Barletta, who is running behind our village idiot Bob Casey, Jr.

The most important thing is for the GOP to solidify Trump’s gains in the Upper Midwest. With the Democratic Party succumbing to cultural Marxism, and Trump implementing America First trade and immigration policies, I see no reason that region cannot become as reliably Republican as the South. That will save the Republic for a few cycles, but eventually, we’re also going to have to convert some non-white constituencies in order to keep Arizona and Texas and Georgia in the red column.

Kasich and Lt. Gov. Taylor hardly spoke to each other. She WASN’T his desired choice to succeed him. He was always closer to Dewine.

Maybe the Junk Media might want to consider that the failure in the Political Consultant class are the ones telling Trump what he should be doing.

This is the same clutch of poltical morons that thought McCain, Romney and Jeb were “great” candidates”.

That hypocrite and traitor Taylor did not endorse Trump for the Presidential campaign! She and her family are more part of deep-pocket donor thieves in construction than just about anyone. Did she even once condemn Kasick in her campaign?

I submit that DeWine won the primary so easily because he came across as seriously in tune with the Deplorable agenda.
