For the first time, two Republican governors have publicly supported the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump, a new development in an intensifying political fracas that has so far been largely partisan.
Vermont Gov. Phil Scott and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, both outspoken critics of Trump, said Thursday that they favored the investigation, but Scott added that he would wait for more information before calling for further action against the president.
In a statement to The Washington Post, Scott called the inquiry "appropriate" and said it is a key part of Congress's duty as a co-equal branch of government.
"I think we have much more to learn and need to understand all the facts as this serious allegation is considered," he said. "Congress has a solemn responsibility to every American to fulfill its role in our government system of checks and balances."

Trump has all the right enemies. Thats enough.
Notice how they want it both ways. They of course want an “impeachment inquiry”. Just an inquiry mind you. We said nothing about actually impeaching the President. Oh no. We respect the outcome of the 2016 election. We just want to be sure that the President is innocent. ( and of course harass him continuously). Think most Congressmen in swing districts will take the same tact if the radicals force a vote.
Given a choice between a Democrat and a Democrat people will vote for the Democrat.
“What crime has Trump committed?”
This is exactly what Pilate said to the crowd who want Jesus crucified. Coincidence? I think nor.
What absolute cretins. Their seditious behavior should be rewarded with being tossed out of office.

Just two lost sheep in wolf’s clothing bleating in the wilderness.
I’m a disenfranchised voter. You can’t out vote the commies in Burlington.
I can’t/won’t move for various reasons, and if you saw my situation you would understand why. There’s no one to vote for. In the last election (as stated in an earlier thread) out of about 20 categories there were 2 I voted for, Town Clerk and Fence Viewer, both staunch conservatives.
Except when a temporary appointment of a US Senator is needed.
So vote rat?
Yes.
There have to be consequences. Im proud to say I did not vote for Kelly Ayotte in 2016.
Yes, having Maggie Hassan in the Senate is horrible. But Ayotte was a little Romney and if she was there now, she too would be deeply gonzerned.
HAHAHA , these two clowns aren’t Republican , Baker is more spineless than Romney and Scott...Well let me put it this way Republicans from New England are rino’s and that is an understatement . What they babble about amounts to a BIG hill of beans. Their statements are decided by sticking a wet index finger in the air to see which way the tainted public opinion wind is blowing .
bump
Baker got re-elected last year and is up for election again in 2022.
He beat Dem. Jay Gonzalez 66 to 33 per cent last yr.
With “Republicans” like that, who needs Democrats?
They are about as “Republican” as John Lindsey was.
DISGUSTING,
Soon to be former governors.
Massachusetts and Vermont Republican. governors? Means they are left of Buttigeg.
Vermont Gov. Phil Scott and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker:
Do you know what they make in Vermont? Nasty syrup and Teddy Bears. That’s it. Both guys are Romney types. Not worth much.
