U.S. authorities are not yet seeing spikes in coronavirus cases in places that are reopening but it was still too early to determine such trends, health secretary Alex Azar said on Sunday.

“We are seeing that in places that are opening, we’re not seeing this spike in cases,” Azar said on CNN’s “State of the Union” program. “We still see spikes in some areas that are, in fact, closed.”

Give it time. Needs to spread a little.

The left’s biggest fear is that we won’t see a resurgence in the virus and the economy will steadily improve as more and more states reopen.

Sorry... not sorry. Clearwater Beach and dozens of other popular hot-spots in Florida have been flooded to capacity with visitors and party goers since May 4th (phase 1). The virus starts to manifest symptoms in a few days. No second wave has appeared. It has been weeks.

Several restaurants had 30 minute waits minimum. Some lines a hundred feet or more long to get in. Guess what, not a one of the people waiting in line wore a mask and weren’t socially distant. Streets were flooded with walkers. The mile long bridges between Tampa / Clearwater where filled to capacity with thousands of cars and party goers.

Don't worry, they just need some time to move some COVID-infected retirees into the nursing homes, and "presume" COVID as the cause of death in a few thousand heart attack and car accident fatalities, and then they'll have the "COVID case" numbers right up there to be a nice, fat, "second wave."

Back under your beds, peons! And if you dare to crawl out from under there, put on your serf mask.

Yep, a combination of many younger people who have no symptoms and UV killing the virus.

The lockdown is ending because the American people say it’s ending.
No further explanation from government is necessary. Thanks.

Yesterday I visited Helen, GA a lovely tourist town in the mountains. It looks like a Bavarian village. The place was packed. Got caught in a traffic jam. Most of the shops and restaurants were open. Only saw two people wearing mask, no social distancing. Everyone was having a great time.

Well, the warming temperatures and way more Sun exposure for natural generation of Vitamin D3 currently may help in reducing the COVID-19 cases here in the USA. I do think doctors are going to recommend a daily dose of 1,000 IU Vitamin D3 and 25 mg of zinc starting around the autumnal equinox to the next vernal equinox for anyone living above the 37° North parallel, which is around two-thirds of the continental USA.

Get ready for the spikes and outrage soon as numbers begin to be counted differently. Looks like soon they will be counting every person in a household if one of them gets infected (or anyone else that had contact with the one). They’ll also be counting as possible COVID deaths if it is merely suspected the victim had it.

I used to live in Clearwater and St. Pete. I would have enjoyed seeing the Howard Franklin jam packed like that.

I do miss Clearwater Beach though. Lot of fun times there.

I think the key words are “SO FAR”.

The key period will be about 3 weeks from opening. Most people who are going to get sick, start to notice symptoms in about a week. And it takes another couple weeks, maybe a bit more, for them to feel sick enough to go to a hospital.

Also, in areas which are currently low infection, it takes a while to build up and spread. Look back at the new stories and counts in mid-March forward.
