The Chicago Teachers Union expressed support for the protest outside tech billionaire Jeff Bezos home, where demonstrators built a prop guillotine. The teachers union has tens of millions of dollars in Amazon shares themselves.
The union announced they support the protest in a tweet last week. The post came in response to another tweet that showed protesters outside Bezos home setting up a guillotine.

The union leadership and some teachers attended a Marxist conference at Northwestern a few years ago, so....
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

14 kids
1 teacher

Oh, yes. But that coercion almost always comes from central administration, and not from the union.
Let me give you an example. In the school district where I taught, central administration decided that American History would henceforth be an optional course. If a student didnt want to take American History, it could be replaced by World History or African History.
The history teachers were livid about that! No matter. It was a done deal.
As a physics teacher, I was also subject to insane directives from above. But the history and English teachers had it much worse.
The union was never involved in any of that. Trust me, I know.
Speaking of the CTU...
