Here's Why President Trump Should Not Form a New Political Party: Trump’s base needs to become one of the new factions that strikes a deal to build a new coalition.

There will be no greater time than NOW to make a Patriot/America First Party. The Democrats have both Houses and the Administration. The majority of Republicans are useless being either corrupt or cowed...failure to pursue the giant grey corruption in the room proves that. The court system is obviously compromised and the disease is spreading down-ticket thanks to Soros and other Bond villains. Our military's higher ranks are still full of Obama-vetted politicians while patriotic soldiers are shown the door. The mass media has legions of "news" people with nary a journalist among them.

Wanting to be left alone hoping things will get better like it has in the past is no longer an option - they are bringing the fabled "hill to die on" into your very yard with multi-pronged infringement on our God-given Constitutional Rights. Using the tools of modern technology they're seeking to implement totalitarian control by curtailing your access to banking, credit and opportunities based on your ideological leaning and the electronic trail of communications you've made along the way.

The only defense is the actual offense of throwing the swine out and re-taking control of our government. The power goes to where the majority of people go and at least 30% of the Dems are ready for better. It's VERY doable - we have but to do it. To quote "Josey Wales", we have to get plum mad dog mean. When hit slap hot iron to it and go on. May God save America.

We 1st need control of the local and state elections systems. Without it a 3rd party will get no where. All we need to do is follow the law for an open election, to do that we need to control the election process.

I’ve changed my mind on this. New wine needs new wine skins. Jesus said that. It applies in this instance, because the new and the old are so different that it will burst.

Unless a new party can commit election fraud on a scale seen in 2020, it's a waste of effort.

The problem is not that the roulette wheel has been exposed as rigged, it's that the whole of it has been exposed as a con game. The Congress has no clothes.

EXCELLENT POST and I agree with all you said. There is simply no better time than NOW to dump the Republican party into the ashbin of history and start anew with a robust patriotic foundation.

Listen, folks, a new party is the sure road to obscurity.

I understand the frustration with the Republican Party, but the solution is to take over the party from the inside.

Did AOC and ‘the squad’ start their own party? NO, they’re taking over the DNC. We need MAGAs taking over the RNC.

I agree completely that is the only way to do the job. We have 2 years to do a tremendous amount of work. After the first two years we do it all again.

Better idea: Run MAGA candidates in BOTH parties primaries.

I could give a rat’s patootie about the letter after the name.

Our problem isn’t party per se.

It’s letting Deep State pick our candidates for us.

“Come back, we won’t hit you anymore, we love you baby. Please come back.”

It’s a great analogy - up to a point.

The problem I have with that analogy is that in the case of an abusive spouse, it is only the spouses guilty of abuse who should be denied another chance and who deserve not to be believed.

Should all spouses who happen to be male be presumed guilty of abuse? Of course not.

The same is true with any group - even Republicans - we simply need to be better at judging individual politicians. Period.

To look at this problem another way, let’s say we never trusted another Republican again... would that protect us from corrupt and unaccountable politicians? Of course it wouldn’t.

Whatever Trump names his new party, there is nothing keeping corrupt and unaccountable politicians from calling themselves that - the name of the party makes zero difference.

The answer is not to refuse to vote Republican - the answer is to stop voting for corrupt and unaccountable politicians simply because they call themselves Republicans.

I do think it is time to stop voting straight party tickets. We should candidates earn our vote - we shouldn’t let them take our vote for granted - just leave that spot blank if the candidate did not earn it.

Even if it means no Republican “coattails” for a while...
Even if it means Democrat majorities in the legislature for a while...

After a while Republican candidates will see that if they want our vote they need to earn it every single time.

We shouldn’t hold our noses and vote for them just because they are Republicans. But we also shouldn’t withhold our votes just because they are Republican.

There are a few, precious few, Republicans who don’t deserve to be scorned. I would suggest that the culture of the Republican party is what makes it so rare to find someone with a spine. We only see the candidates, we don’t see the support staff, the party mechanisms. I think that the culture of the GOP is beyond reclamation.

If I were a Republican politician, and I enjoyed the perks of being elected, I’d be VERY nervous.

I don’t disagree with any of that - I think we are saying the same thing:

If only one or two Republican politicians are judged worthy of support - then so be it - the party disappears.

That’s fine with me - as long as those judgements were each made on a case-by-case basis. No one should be judged by some superficial generality like party membership - it is that kind of lazy generalization and group-think that turned the Republican Party into the RINO party in the first place.

Agreed. I’m not for throwing the baby out with the bath water. Aside from the few obvious patriots who happen to be Republican, I suspect there are more that could be a positive influence, if the culture of the GOP wasn’t pushing them.
