"If only one Democratic incumbent is defeated by a challenger in November, it is likely to be Luther." Let's piece together Rothenburg's last 2 columns. Last time, Rothenburg listed the 9 races that he said were true tossups. He included Luther, not Thurman. Now, he says that if one incumbent Democrat losses to a challenger it will be Luther, not Thurman. So according to Rothenburg, Luther is more likely to lose than Thurman, and the Luther seat is a 50/50 proposition. So that must mean that Rothenburg believe that Thurman is more than 50% likely to win. I don't see any other way of reading this. Now the question is why?

I really don't think Rotherberg is on top of this as much as you and I are. I simply don't think he has given the Thurman situation much thought.
