FREEPERS...put up or Shut up!

Posted on 10/16/2002 8:13:10 AM PDT by Gopher Broke

Freepers.......time is almost GONE to help Republicans WIN BACK the Senate! We need to contribute money NOW in order to help. I just gave $100 by credit card today to the National Republican Senatorial Committe. Please match my challenge, or at least contribute something..

Click here to visit the NRSC to help.

If you prefer to give to individual campaigns, here is a GREAT site with discussion of the Senate races, including the 7 seats that are up for grabs. This site also has a link to each of the Senate campaign websites. One of the states will SURPRISE you!

Take back congress.org

Will Daschle keep blocking the Bush judicial nominees? Will the Senate Democrats continue to BLOCK the entire Bush agenda, including making the tax cuts permanent?

It is up to US. If you live in one of the states with the 7 hot Senate races (AR, CO, MN, MO, NJ, NH, SD, WV) VOLUNTEER. Everyone can visit the websites above and DONATE.

Let's win the Senate BACK, Freepers!!

You just HAD to know that some just CAN'T pass up the chance to come on a thread just to bash the GOP and GWB.

Seems like the worms are coming out of the woodwork.

Why can't people who disagree just pass on by this thread........without feeling the need to squat and defecate? SO much class. Not.

I know. Some of the hostile comments I'm reading here have nothing to do with bashing Republicans. I happen to vote Republican all the time and have donated on a monthly basis to the RNC. Having said all that, I disagree totally with their tactics on solicitation and have told them so. If the RNC wants to listen, fine. If not, no more money from me. I told them they waste a lot of money on mail solicitations but apparently, the RNC has a lot of money to burn.

I give them money.........and yes, I get a lot of mail requesting more. Sometimes I send some in.....sometimes I dont. But that's OK. Mail is easy enough to toss. And by published reports.........the GOP is doing WONDERFUL re: fundraising. We are WAY WAY WAY ahead of the Dems.......which means more money to pump into critical races. Fine by me if they continue to do fundraising.

RNC Trumps DNC in Fundraising

With less than three weeks to go before Election Day, the Democratic Party has a major problem: the party's fundraising operation is lagging far behind the GOP campaign cash juggernaut.

According to Staten Island political analyst Kevin Collins:

• Since January, Democratic hard money contributions (money given directly to a candidate) have seriously lagged behind even their 1996 levels.

• While Democratic National Committee (DNC) hard money contributions have slowed to a virtual halt, Republican National Committee (RNC) contributions have swelled by more than 19 percent.

• In just the two months of August and September, the RNC collected more than 75 percent of what the DNC raised in the months from January to September.

• Boiled down to hard numbers, the RNC has raised more than $66 million to the $21 million collected by the DNC - more than three times as much.

• As the numbers stand today, the Republican party has an edge of more than $60 million, after expenses. That's more than the total cash on hand now in Democratic Party coffers.

Clearly, the Democrats are at a huge financial disadvantage. They're going into battle with a pocketknife while the Republicans are armed with a machine gun.

Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe has been boasting for months that the fall elections look good for his party. But if money means anything in politics - and it usually does - McAuliffe may be whistling past the graveyard.

The NRSC isn't helping Rocky, so I won't help them. I'll help individual candidates like Rocky, Jay Wolfe, and help my state's people.

I know people are tired of my saying this, but I think we have a better chance in Louisiana than anyone is giving us credit for. I've given to all three of our Senatorial candidates.

Thanks for the links Gopher.

I've done my own donating thru FR to individual Senate candidates. And I've been writing to local opinion columns in the hotly contested Senate races. Even got two letters published.

We can all do our part to get rid of Daschle and his merry band of obstructionists. It's worth a $100 just to see their faces after they lose the Senate. If not, we gave it our best shot.

Huh, you must be psychic!
I sent my modest contribution in last month
I'm not rich, but I do what I can
I consider it a investment, as it will probably save me a few $$$ down the line.
Think of how much more we will all be paying if the liberals get a firmer grip...

Check out this story on the Democrats "suddenly" getting many new millions to spend for the elections.....and NONE of the fundraising stories count the $34 MILLION that the Unions will spend!!

Come on FREEPERS.....get out that credit card and DONATE!!

Time is SHORT and we MUST take back the Senate!!

It is a myth to believe that campaign spending will increase voter turn out or influence results. The Media just keeps tweeking the public and the public raises the ante. Elections are about ideas. When Republicans run on the right ideas, Republican turn out soars. When Republicans run as me too socialists, turn out falls. If Democrat turn out is low, the election can go either way.

Republicans could have had a sure fire turn out tool, and winning issues: Contract with Congress.

Republicans will still win a surprise election handily, widening their hold on the House and retaking the Senate with a couple of votes to spare. Voters know that national security is the paramount function of the federal government. And after our vulnerability to terrorism was established last year, voters will vote for the party with clear-cut demonstrated superiority on issues of national security. When the Senate reconvenes after the election, we will have an immediate transfer of power with Daschle resuming his role as minority leader. Republicans will get some judges confirmed, but that will be the only difference. The socialists on the right will see to that. When Republicans are almost as socialistic as Democrats, nothing much changes.
