I don't know, Howlin. But Roy Black says this started in 1997. I'm not sure if the pain killers began then or the surgery...

I just don't ever remember him being gone for any length of time.

Meds would have begun post op. Apparently the surgery wasn't successful and the use continued rather than additional surgery. Not knowing how these were prescribed it's not possible to say how the addiction occurred. The meds are time released over a 12 hour period and scripts written as such. Time abuse creates addiction which amounts to what is in reality a physical addiction. Attempts to break it result in symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea, most people are unsuccessful. Demands increase and the addiction eventually requires more. Many people overcome insurmountable if they truly aspire. I believe Rush is one of those people.

I love these lawyers statements -
"One thing I can tell you is that Rush Limbaugh has been in pain for many years...."
Sure he can tell us that, and we all know that the only thing that he knows is what his client tells him - So ?
