Thanks to both of you for your replies. I'm so disillusioned with GWB. I was sure that he would address this problem but so far,nothing.

Any presidential candidate who vows to stop the flow of illegals would get my vote.

The copy of Arabic notes is frightening. We are going to get what we deserve if we don't close our borders soon.What I can't understand is what on earth the Department of Homeland security does.What a complete waste of time and money if the borders aren't secure.

I fear it is going to take one of two events to get the attention of our elected, so-called leaders: 1)a 9/11 event set off in the heart of downtown Los Angeles directly linked to Islamic border-jumpers who came across disguised as "poor Mexicans looking for work", or 2) a major disease epidemic with about a 50% mortality rate decimating the American Southwest again directly traceable to border-jumpers.

Your disillusionment will turn into outright anger if Bush wins in California in 2004. That win, based on pandering, aided by a liberal governor is going to be the death nell for immigration regulation, even though the economy of the southwest will be in tangles in just ten years if the present trend continues.

If, for example, a Democrat candidate promises to close the borders, do you thing his/her party would ever let that happen? Same with a pro-life Democrat candidate; a pro-gun one; a pro-smoking one, a pro tax-cutting one? Empty promises aimed at gullible voters.

Why should you be disillusioned with GWB. It's pretty clear he does not care a whit about homeland security.

Here's a little test I do. I don't listen to what he says, after all he's proven to be a chronic Bull$hitter. I watch what he does.

He appoints Tom Ridge to the department of Homeland Security. Tom Ridge says the borders can't be closed "for political and cultural reasons". There ya go, right from the horses mouth. In one sentance, he proves his job is worthless window painting.

Bush appoints Zigler to head the "new" INS dept. Zigler is the son od two illegals. Being as both his parents came into this country illegally, how much effort do you think he's going to exert protecting our borders.

Like I sid, you can't listen to El Presedente' Jorge Boooooshs' Boooool$hit for too long.

Just watch what he does.

Watch how all tis pandering to hispanics leads to a temporary migrant worker program, which then morphs into "Amnesty".

GWB just keeps on letting Karl Rove pull on his puppet strings.
