Rice failed to protect her President from reading the 'infamous' '16 words.' It was her responsibility to vet CIA intelligence, and she failed and caused a mini-scandal when there was no reason for a scandal.

To make up for that mistake, she lobbied the President, with Powell, to intervene in Liberia. Coupled with her liberal social views, I am not sure why anybody cares about her. She is a hack and a RINO at best.

Powell lobbied the President to insist that violation of UN resolutions as being a key component to fight Iraq. As conservatives, we don't give a damn about UN Resolutions, yet because Powell went on the national stage, the rest of the world thinks negatively towards the Bush Administration's effort in Iraq.

What is funny is that more thoughtful so called neoconservatives attempted to be more honest with the agenda but it was the lobbying efforts of Powell and Rice that changed the messaging to just why we are in Iraq.

The lack of WMDs is clearly an issue the raises the question of competency in leadership.

I like talking with you...

First of all, the "infamous" 16 words is a tempest in a teapot... and facts that changed after the fact. You are right... if the White House hadn't said "we misspoke," it would haven't been brought up. I don't have a problem with the 16 words. The British stand behind their intelligence, and they probably have better sources in Africa than we do. Furthermore, Wilson's attempt to find out is laughable at best.

Liberia... surely that doesn't have you upset. Rice is a hack to you... but I've read enough of your posts to know that if people don't think exactly like you than, to you, they are a hack...

As conservatives... you need to wake up and smell the coffee. The world is tied into the UN. Like it not... that is the reality on the ground. If we want international cooperation... then that cooperation has to go through the UN. (I would whole-heartedly support any bill that would get the US out of the UN though)

Please realize that the world thinks badly of America because it is the world's knee jerk reaction to think badly of America. Powell's appearance on the world stage has very little to do with the world's reaction to the US in Iraq.
