Martin Luther King Jr. (August 28, 1963): "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Jesse Jackson revisionism (present day, interpretted by yours truly): "I have a SCHEME...that my children, illegitimate or otherwise, will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by content of their character (can I get an amen!) but by the color of their skin. Stay out da Bushes!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Booker T. Washington (1911): "There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public… Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs… There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well."

Roger Hedgecock made a good point this hour, guest-hosting on the Rush Limbaugh show: that the title "Classification by Race, Ethnicity, and National Origin" predisposed people to vote against Prop 54. After all, who wants more racial preferences or more racial classification? If Attorney General Lockyer (D) had used the title "Racial Privacy Initiative," it would have gotten more support at the ballot box.

The key factor in 54's rejection, or at least in the margin of its defeat, was its opponents' near-unanimity in lying that it would bar collection of research data in health contexts. Lie, lie, lie.

As the campaign evolved, I began to understand what Hillary Clinton meant by the "vast right-wing conspiracy," except in this case the conspiracy was on the opposite side of the compass.

This is so true. It fits with the Democrat tactic of accusing your accuser of what you, in fact, are doing.
