ABC13 Eyewitness News

(10/14/03) — A preschool teacher at a Houston charter school is facing allegations that she paddled a child.

The incident allegedly happened Friday at Varnett Charter School in southwest Houston. Parents gathered Tuesday to support the woman who has been suspended with pay.

"There has been no formative action taken other than the teacher has been suspended with pay pending the completion of the investigation," said school superintendent Annette Cluff.

"It's hard to find a good teacher," said parent Lesa Andrepont. "Since we have a good teacher, let's try to support her."

School officials have not said how long they think the investigation will take.

Hmmmm. I wonder when CBS will air their story on the "dark side" of preschools.

Should I hold my breath or not?

Thank you very much, thank you very much!
It isn't every day, good fortune comes me way
I never thought the future would be fun for me!
And if I had a bugle, I would blow it to add a sort
o' how's your father's touch.
But since I left me bugle at home, I simply have to say
Thank you very, very, very much! Thank you very, very, very much!

Instilling respect in the child is a positive result of spanking the child. Obviously this country has too many parents who think their kids are never wrong thus they never deserve to be disciplined by their school teacher.
There should be more teachers like this one.

Great, maybe when this child gets to the higher grades they won't smack or shoot a teacher. I know this won't set well with the bottom feeding Democrats but, they don't have to worry the teachers unions will support them given life or death.

They are as stupid as all the minorities that continually vote democrat thinnking they are getting ahead in life.

What a sad commentary

Parents should spank children, if necessary. Government employees should not. Call the parents at work and get them over there to discipline their child, or expel the whole family.

"Charter preschool" = free day care on your dime, Mr. Taxpayer.

I'm not sure how it works in TX but in MI a charter preschool is not tax paid. It is just a preschool in a charter school. The parents pay for the ability to have the younger child go to the same school as the older ones.

Thanks, glad you mentioned it. If the same is true in TX, then people aren't sponging off the taxpayer (even if they have obnoxious kids :-)
