May I humbly suggest a change in tactics, I feel it is timely and powerful.
We have prayed, cried, screamed, protested and sought His Face. We can propell our faith into power by starting to praise Him. What did Paul do when locked in prison (so similar to Terri), he "PRAISED" and the doors were opened. Release your faith freepers, praise Him with no regard to outcome.

My father did die of dehydration/starvation. He had a tumor in his throat that cut off his esophogus. The tumor advanced faster than the Drs anticipated and by the time he was unable to swallow liquids or solids it was too late to insert the tube. His condition would not allow for it. I will attest to anyone who will listen that it is a horrible and extremely painful death. The one starving and dehydrating is not always comfortable regardless of the sedatives given. My father was on mega doses of morphine and yet he still tried to drink to satisfy his thirst. Whatever he consumed would not go down but only come out of his nose. He literally would cry and beg God to allow him to swallow just a little.
That this is being purposely done to Terri, who is not terminal, is frightening. It is also an outrage.

Excellent point.

>>Either way, give him time.
There IS no time!
Terri is dying and Jeb is doing NOTHING. The Catholic attorneys have posted on Terri's website what Jeb can do to stop this execution and he is not doing anything. Her organs are failing right now!

The "right to die" will, INEVITABLTY, without question, soon become the OBLIGATION TO DIE.
"C'mon Mr. Phelps. You've become a burden on the system and your bed is costing your family a fortune. Your heirs are itching to get ahold of their inheritence, and your going to die eventually anyway. Why don't you do us all a favor and sign the form. After all, IT'S YOUR RIGHT."
In the Netherlands, the elderly are terrified of going to the hospital and will often avoid medical treatment because they are afraid of the "right" to die. The medical profession, ostensibly a healing profession, is now in the business of snuffing out inconvenient life.
Plus, we know these things never happen in a vacuum: The list of those with a "right" to die will expand to include those who cost the state too much for their care, or who have no means of supporting their healthcare costs.

The doctor or nurse or perhaps Mike, Terri's monstrous hsb., removed the tube that gave Terri food and drink Or maybe even the lover of the husband who is very eager to have the wife out of the picture --- as is the adulterous husband. What I don't understand --- why is a husband who is openly committing adultery still considered to be the "owner" of his wife --- that she is to dispose of as he wishes?

That's right. Doctors assume the role of gods. They are not. They are humans with opinions based on book learning, not higher wisdom. God help us that we have now legalized physician murder. I thought they took an oath to prolong life.

doctors told my family that it's one of the worse possible deaths and is extremely painfulWell ---- apparently Michael has allowed his wife to be given morphine and pain killers ---- interesting how injecting drugs into her veins is okay but allowing her to have food in her stomach is not. I guess that will help ease his guilty conscience ---- that he killed her but relieved her pain while doing so. Also of course the morphine is likely to help bring on her death.

Death for those who are not terminal happens every day. It is simply called something else: futile care, death with dignity, partial-birth abortion, rule of law, "choice," or elder abuse.
Well said, Diane Alden.
We are rightly cautioned not to invoke Nazi Germany too often, lest the analogy become trivialized through over-use.
But what is being done to Terri Schindler-Schivo --legally!-- is nothing less than Nazi-like.
And nowhere are the words of Thomas Jefferson more appropriate: 'I tremble for my nation when I reflect that God is just: that His justice can not sleep forever.'
I am still praying for Terri and her family. God's will be done and if Terri is legally executed, we will not forget.
To: FITZ
Fitz, she is no longer being given pain meds. Her family was alarmed that she was too medicated and now there is none. This man is beyond evil. By allowing the meds to be discontinued he is essentially rubbing Terri's pending death in their faces while making them feel responsible by raising concerns. That is my opinion anyway.
To: FITZ
Well ---- apparently Michael has allowed his wife to be given morphine and pain killers.
Reports I heard last night were that Michael Schiavo had ordered complete withdrawal of pain-relieving drugs from Terri because her family had become alarmed at her total non-responsiveness.
I don't know if this is true. But if it is, it's in keeping with the kind of nasty, vengeful actions Schiavo has consistently taken toward Terri's family.

"The litmus test is whether or not a person can bring a spoon to their mouth." -- Attorney George Felos August 2001, commenting on the standard that should apply in deciding to terminate life in nursing homes, rehab and daycare centers in America (Michael Schiavo's attorney)
So Joni Eareckson Tada should be starved/dehydrated to death? Stephen Hawking should be starved/dehydrated to death? Christopher Reeve should be starved/dehydrated to death? Roy Horn should be starved/dehydrated to death? Disabled veterans or policemen or firemen who lost their arms in the line of duty should be starved/dehydrated to death? Any victim of a skiing or diving accident that breaks his or her back below the second or third vertebra should be starved/dehydrated to death? All toddlers in this country should be starved/dehydrated to death? It is absolutely insane. INSANE! And I don't know what I can do to stop it. I've already written/faxed/called/emailed everyone I can think of to step in and help Terri. I'm hoping for a SWAT team to burst in there and take her to the waiting arms of her parents.

Pope John Paul II beatifies Mother Teresa this week. Perhaps her prayerful intervention can help Terri and the REST of us. What we need is a divine rage to make the changes necessary to save us from the continued descent into hell. As Governor of the State of Florida, Jeb Bush has the right to commute the sentence of an inmate on death row but, according to Greer, he should stay out of the Schiavo case! This makes no sense whatsoever.

Excellent point. It's the legal system in Florida, as I see it. As someone said earlier, "Sometimes the law is an ass." I worry that our efforts are too little too late.

"I feel confident that if Jeb Bush wanted to save her life, he would - as would his so called Christian brother, the President. Have they no shame allowing this cruelty, especially with the whole world watching? Either of them could instigate an investigation that would at the very least halt this murder temporarily." They are cowards.

"The legal office has been talking to people trying to find some strategy where my office can intervene in a different fashion that will yield a different result," Bush said Thursday. "So far we have not found that option."
So there you have it.
It is now confirmed. The cowardly scoundrel has simply dismissed the very advice he solicited.
What Bush is saying translates to, "No votes for me!"
PS: Received from a source I shall not disclose: "Terri is dying right now, has spiked a temp"

I often wonder - and literally ask the proponents of death on demand - why they don't start "decreasing the surplus population" and "easing society's burden" by taking their own lives instead of others'.I have asked the same question myself.
To: Graymatter
"If Jeb Bush is the worst sort of politician, he's aware that this is a cardinal moment in his career and the press is salivating like hyenas, waiting to run "Disabled woman starved to death on Jeb's watch." Every gruesome detail of her ordeal will make every front page. He'll do something to avoid that." He is a foolish coward. By trying to appease those who will never vote for him, he is playing right into their hands. He's implementing their despicable agenda, and alienating his own base.
There is no percentage in cowardice. Bush will discover the reality of that truth the next time he runs for office.
