When Runningbear mentioned the NE in her reply, that's when I remembered all the speculation we made,in reguards to salt water issue and the boat.

Even if there is no news articles to back it up I think it is highly probable that Scott throughly washed the boat and truck. Also I mentioned the plug in the boat. Has anyone actually seen the Sears brand boat Scott owned? Does it have a plug for draining water out in the bottom?

I read a while ago that certain chemicals can block dogs from following a scent.

NE: LACI'S FINAL MINUTES
HOW HER HUSBAND KILLED HER- ACCORDING TO THE COPS
BY DON GENTILE, DAVID WRIGHT,
MICHAEL HANRAHAN and ALAN SMITH

1. Pregnant Laci Peterson was punched in the stomach and
beaten to death by her cheating husband Scott.

2. Police now believe Scott killed Laci on Dec 23rd, not on Christmas Eve, the
day she was reported missing. Cops say Scott then made a secret middle of the
night trip from his home in Modesto to dump her body in the bay.

3. If Scott was to marry Amber, he told her he did not want to be a father, and he
would have a vasectomy. Police say he wanted to be free of responsibilty.

4. Police think Scott planned to kill Laci and came up with the idea to make it
look like she'd been abducted while he was fishing 90 miles away. Scott did not
realize, however that Laci's disappearance would make headlines around the
world and he'd be forced to feed lie after lie to her family, the media and police.

5. On DEC. 23, Laci and Scott went to a hairstyling shop, where her
sister Amy worked. Amy clipped Scott's hair and talked to Laci,
who did not reveal she had found out about Scott's affair.
She was trying to work things out since Scott said he had ended
the affair which was a lie. Laci and Scott returned home.

6. At 8:30pm Laci spoke with her mother Sharon. Laci told her they
would be over at 6 for X-mas dinner, the next evening. Police believe
she was killed in her home following that phone call after she
got ready for bed that night.

7. During a search of the Peterson house in Feb. police took Laci's sister,
Amy, to the house to help identify any missing items. "Amy told them a set of
maternity night clothes Laci owned were missing".

8. Police believe Scott may have pushed Laci into an argument, or else Laci
accused Scott of lying. Police know violence errupted in the kitchen, a mop
with flecks of blood were found, which they think he used to clean up blood and
vomit. She had been punched in the stomach hard enough to make her throw up.

9. The cops are trying to determine if Laci was bound and gagged,
choked and tied to a red kitchen chair before she was killed.
"There are rub marks on the chair in the kitchen that could
have been made from a rope." Laci did suffer before she died.

10. After committing the murder, Scott but his wife into his pick-up truck
under cover of darkness Dec. 23. Scott then drove to his warehouse.
He stuffed 5 foot 1 Laci into one of the three 55 gallon drums he'd
ordered, packed it with 3 cement anchors and covered the drum with it's lid.'

11. Cops found out from his computer he learned to make cement anchors.
Scott made 5 cement anchors but could only account for 2 of them.

12. By 1:30 am or so on X-mas Eve, after an hour drive, Scott exited Interstate
80 at Gilman Street, headed for the marina. He passed the Radison Hotel on
the marina grounds, drove slowly to a single lane road that took him through
Cesar Chavez Park and ended at a parking lot by the rock strewn slope that
leads to the water of San Francisco Bay. At high tide, Scott pushed the drum
containing Laci's body down the rocky slope directly into the water..where it
drifted out to sea with the tide before slowly sinking from the weight of
the anchors. He then drove home.

13. Scott left his house again in the morning, he got his boat at the warehouse
where it was stored, and then went back to the Berkeley Marina. As he left the
house that morning he was seen by a neighbor carrying a bundle wrapped in a
blue tarp. Police believe he was removing evidence from the crime scene.

14. Scott wanted to be seen that morning on the way to go fishing to help
create the illusion he was headed off to fish and was miles away from his
home. But Scott really did not go fishing. Test results showed the boat
had not been in salt water.

15. Police have not yet determined if Scott chopped off his wife's
head and right arm and left leg so that she would fit into the drum
or if the limbs and head became seperated through decomposition.

16. The infant had been expelled from Laci's body through a phenomenon
known as "coffin birth". The police believe the build up of these gases also
blew the lid off the drum causing both bodies to come to the surface. Police say
sea crabs and other fish where chewing on Laci's remains, eventually freeing
her from the anchors and allowed her to come to shore.

There was the Feb 25th NE article that said there was no salt water in Scott's boat but that the truck (acording to preliminary DNA reports) had tested positive for Laci's blood.

Thanks so much, Mags, for all your hard work in helping us to get our facts on this case. But I'm confused again, and maybe you can straighten me out. You mention a Feb. 25th NE article; yet, the KTVU report denying the article was dated Feb. 14th. Does this mean MPD denied the article before it was even published?

Yes,isn't that interesting. Wonder what's up with that? Do you think the magazine publishing date is actually later than when it hits news stands?
Here's the link,NE dated Feb 25th:

It concludes by saying that "Amber had delighted her police handlers by extracting this taped confession from Scott: "I didn't do anything to Laci, but I know who did." And, briefly brings up the irony of Melvin King meeting with Cory Carroll, and talking with Amber.

WHOA, Girl! What a find! Great job!

Now, I gotta go find the date of that reported conversation, "I didn't do anything....". Sounds like there was some more interesting conversation re King, Carroll and Amber, doesn't it?

Another thing that jumps out at me from the NE story is,Dec 20th is the last time Amber saw Scott.Scott's story was he would be visiting relatives in Maine. Is this the night of the party(the one Scott is wearing his Santa hat looking absolutely plastered?)

Dec. 10th Scott purchased the boat. I would be interested to see what the receipt date for the ankle weights was. It sounds like there was a deffinite plan unfolding. The only thing I'm not sure is why he chose the night/early morning hours of Dec 23rd/24th to follow through on his plans.

I'm not sure of the date of the photo either. I thought it was from around 12/14 or 12/15 the same day as Laci's baby shower?

For grins, here's a quote about the umbrellas that I've been looking for for a while (I shoud have asked you, you'd have found it instantly)....
*****
"Modesto police and the FBI searched the Peterson home Thursday night and Friday. They removed items including two computers and patio umbrellas, and towed the couple's sport utility vehicle and pickup truck."

Yes, that's right! Thanks for reminding me of that tidbit! Now, was MPD denying both stories of evidence; i.e., salt water and blood evidence in Scott's truck?

From the KTVU article that Maggie posted it sounds like they just denied the NE article that there wasn't any salt water.

I really don't know, Vel. But King was out making TV appearances, and he was suddenly placed under gag order. Could that be the case for Muna also? I seem to recall about the last info we heard leaked with respect to the low-rider gang was the name of Dirty--Doug Maderas, I think. I wondered IF perhaps Dirty was in custody somewhere. Odd that we've never heard Skeeter's real name. Could it be that they're still looking for him?

Since seeing that last comment in the NE article you put out today, I'm really beginning to believe there's some kind of connection here!

HOLY CROW!! There's an inconsistency. He said he had taken the Patio Umbrella's to his storage facility on the 24th.!! One other thing I remember DR. LEE saying very early on on LKL was that WHAT she was wearing may give a time frame as to her time of death eg. Pyjamas!! Yes, he said pyjamas. That would indicate that she was killed on the night of the 23rd. The more this thing opens up the more disgusting and sickening it gets. Scott Peterson deserves to fry!!
